I agree that we are now on the last lap because of a combination of vaccination, people getting Covid and so getting immunity, and some of these new treatments. I wonder if those who have been refusing vaccines will now refuse to take the new Pfizer pills which could save their lives?
Should charge anti-vaxxers for this medication if they need it.

You seem to have covered off all bases without being specific. Have you had one and if not which excuse from the list above are you using. BTW you forgot to use the 'not bothered about catching it because of my age / health / risk / reward / etc and passing on to older members of the family excuse'. And I am not sure that anyone can have any religious objections to the vaccine other than very very small denominations. There are over 5m people in the UK still unvaccinated, not sure many of them belong to the First Century Gospel Church.
I'm double jabbed, but I'm defending the right of British people to make their own decisions when it comes to taking this vaccine. The fact that this is a controversial opinion these days is very, very, scary.

It's not a controversial opinion in the slightest. No one should ever be forced to have the vaccine. However employers and business owners should equally have the right to choose whether to employ an unvaccinated person or allow an unvaccinated person on their premises, and the free availability of treatments for the disease should be prioritised for people who have chosen to protect themselves. I have no problem if the unvaccinated were billed for any treatment for the disease that they've consciously chosen not immunise themselves against. So yes, it's a free choice, and if they want to go that route they need to accept the potential consequences.

Limiting access to places for safety of others with a vaccine passport is no more controversial than not being allowed to drive a car without a drivers licence. or not get into a nightclub with trainers on.

the fact that Delta its transmissible while vaccinated does bring the passport saftey into question entirely though mind you.

I don’t know who it is to be honest, just thought it was a bit of good news.

Which part of their tweet offends you so much?

Guido is a renowned controversial political "blogger". generally anything he says needs to be fact checked as its usually either false or spun to within an inch of its life..

Nowt wrong with his particualar tweet tho, I think his "its over" ending is over the top as its far from over for most of the world unless the pill is incredibly easy to make so can be made anywhere and cheap as chips. In general, taken on face value of meaning "for the UK" he's not far wrong assuming we can get the pill past the medical board.

This is life sadly. People get ill and people die. Some will be very old and likely have passed due to flu, some anti-vaxxers. Doesn't make it right, no, but as a major public health issue, it's almost certainly very much on its last legs. Definitely not worth hiding indoors or obsessing over anymore. I know people who are young and healthy and vaccinated who are terrified of it still to the extent that they won't leave the house for anything. Not even a sibling's wedding. Nothing. It's hugely depressing when they have next to nowt to fear as a young a healthy bloke. Same for most people now mercifully.
It's mad to think there are people choosing to hide away. Honestly, apart from wearing a mask when going into a bar/restaurant, keeping to social distancing and applying hand gel on entering shops my life has been 100% back to normal for the best part of 8 months.
Get vaccinated and crack the fuck on would be my advice. Appreciate that the UK is a bit different due to the amount of fuckwits knocking about but still..

There are large numbers of vaccinated people catching and spreading covid so what is the vaccine passport for exactly?
