Germany are yes, not sure how mask wearing is going there , or any individual country for that matter. Scotland seems to be flatlining at about half the UK rate so theres that.My opinion thogh is there is no reason not have mask wearing it's easy and even if its only reduces transmission a bit then why not .
Both England and Scotland have had good drops in hospital patients in the last two or three days

It is a bt harder to call in Wales and Northern Ireland as they are still edging upward.

The high deaths in England and Scotland are a legacy of the high cases from there a week or two back filtering through.

The numbers are in the other thread,

Hasn't the track and trace received much criticism due to being a bit of a shambles?
I suppose if Boris and his mates keep telling us it's the best in the world it must be true, they are a trustworthy lot after all.

Think the test system is the best isn’t it. Track and trace doubt it but did anyone else even bother?

The vast majority of people in England may have gone back to normal and stopped mask wearing, worldwide UK wide not so much. If that's the reason England / UK has some of the highest cases nubers now I'll let others decide.

Yes I agree with you. I’ve been abroad quite a lot over the last few months and it’s clear many areas of the world are not as back to normal as we are.

We all know cases roll in waves and so there’s every chance in a few months case volumes will have reversed. But of course we can’t be driven by cases any more because there will never be an end as Covid will be here forever.

Europe is the epicentre again according to the WHO. Regarding Germany, I go there at the end of the month so will be interesting to see how the general public are compared to the U.K.

Numbers are rising across most of northern Europe, but then that's to be expected. The weather has been relatively mild right up until a couple of weeks ago, and then the annual 'flu/cold' season kicked in, so now the cases are rising, albeit they rose faster than authorities had predicted. It'll soon catch up in the Mediterranean, alas. The Netherlands reintroduces the mandatory wearing of face masks in shops/public buildings as of tomorrow.

Not sure about Germany but here numbers are rising rapidly despite never getting rid of mandatory mask wearing for shops and transport etc. Mask wearing has been brought back into schools and workplaces this last few days, so it will be interesting to see if that helps.

I suspect the rises here are more to do with the relatively low take up of the vaccine.

I don’t know who it is to be honest, just thought it was a bit of good news.

Which part of their tweet offends you so much?

The tweeter offends me. He's a very grubby person. In terms of Covid, I would also think he is insincere and espouses alt right BS that his backers instruct him to disseminate.
