I find the covid news coming out of Europe utterly depressing. It just goes to show there is no easy solution or way out of this misery. Its going to be with us all for years.

True.
But regular booster vaccines AND anti viral pills offer real hope.
We need to get the rest of the world vaccinated ASAP.
Can't understand the general air of malaise around the AZ vaccine which seemed the best option for jabs in poorer countries.

Netherlands posted 23,680 new cases today, that’s 5,678 up on the seven-day average. Some 205 were admitted to hospital and another 33 to ICU. On a brighter note, the first booster jab was given out today. Come to think of it, that’s rather late…

Not really they were 4 months behind us vaccination wise though they didn't max the antibody levels by waiting 8 weeks between jabs, they only waited 3 weeks.

Im in the same boat mate, we will have to do a bluemoon strava 2k round the bedroom race at this stage!!

weirdly. Since I stopped my 1000 days I’ve just been non stop ill and full of cold

Definitely go for a pcr mate, the lateral flows are not always accurate.

That said, there are some shocking bugs about at the moment, both my son and business partner been walloped for 10 days with heavy colds.

Got it two weeks ago. No worse than a moderate cold thankfully, but still no sense of smell or taste, which is getting annoying.

Sorry, mate. Not been keeping an eye on the thread. I thought you were continuing to suffer with covid from way back. These high dose steroids I am taking at the mo but make the thought process involved in making a cuppa a tricky process.

Hey no worries at all.
I am kind of in as much as it took nigh on 8 months until I could run again and I never really lost the cough, but others on the mend.
This latest cold has ran me ragged - but it could be for many reasons.
Hope all is well with you.

Yeah - tis how I feel too (and the family had it - I don't live with them but took all the ill kids down to the airport for a test...so I've picked it up from them.
walked to the shop to get milk this evening and felt other worldly. Chest is utterly battered and my hearing is suffering with the tinnitus on high alert (happens when ill).

Dread a coughing episode as it results in nearly fainting or being sick.
Truly odd illness this.
