It’s not difficult, I confess, but you’ve lost me. :-)Sorry mate but it’s pronounced Gauteng.
I could tell you pronounced it wrong in your head when you wrote Gauteng. It’s not Gauteng, it’s Gauteng. It’s not difficult, I confess, but you’ve lost me. :-)
South Africans pronounce everything ridiculously, so say it as crazily as you can and you’re probably close to the native pronounciation.I could tell you pronounced it wrong in your head when you wrote Gauteng. It’s not Gauteng, it’s Gauteng.
If Omicron is less severe than the Delta variant then the current rules are just ridiculous.
If a person lives with someone who's had a positive test then they have the following options.
Delta - no isolation needed but daily testing
Omicron - isolate for ten days regardless
So you can get on with your life from the deadlier variant but Omicron you have to live like a hermit again.
You can't just look at severity - if it causes half as many hospitalisations per infection but is 3 times as transmissable then the absolute number of hospitalisations is going to go up. And they don't yet know for sure what the actual factors are yet so are being cautious (for once). If Omicron is less severe than the Delta variant then the current rules are just ridiculous.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not an anti vaxxer, I'm fully vaccinated but its just getting silly nowthe point is we dont know yet if its more mild, and if it is to what extent. so they are trying to limit the spread of Omicron as much as possible.
If it turns out to be ultra mild then yeah let it rip.
Grunge is right though. The data isn’t complete yet and so we need to be more cautious whilst the data is configured.Don't get me wrong, I'm not an anti vaxxer, I'm fully vaccinated but its just getting silly now
