The real issue is a complicit media who can’t wait to break news that a possible 75000 deaths might occur but are not so forthcoming with news it’s hopefully a very mild illness and the possible end of covid as a dangerous virus.

The media is the problem. They love doom and gloom because it makes them money. I'm sure in the second world war they wouldn't have been allowed to scaremonger so much. Almost two years into this now and people have complied, had all the jabs, they want to get on with enjoying life and make their own decisions.

The real issue is people in denial over the reality and instead repeating stuff like this they read online. Because they'd like it to be true.

Im watching the reality of Omicron unfold worldwide.

It is seemingly and thankfully, a very mild form of covid with relatively few hospitalisations and so far, no deaths.

Get you vaccinations, get your booster and let’s get on with life.

Scientists don’t make predictions based on their own knowledge and opinion; they forecast what might happen going off past data. They can only use past data and the results can only come from that data. Their own expertise doesn’t come into it.

If the forecast doesn’t fit with the real world occurrences, it doesn’t mean the scientists were wrong, it simply shows that what they’re investigating is variable.

With Covid, scientists had to use other viruses as their dataset because there’s no past data for Covid in humans. But they can’t just tell us what they think is going to happen, they have to use data, and action can only be taken from data.

apart from all the data from China, Italy and Spain they had and chose to ignore. Even average Joe public could tell you what was going to happen but the scientists decide they had a lack of data so could give an answer until it was too late.

Would help if we knew vaccination status.

I’d be more interested in knowing why they were admitted. If it’s as transmissible as reported, by Christmas there’ll hardly be anyone in hospital, be they ill, working, or visiting, who doesn’t test positive for it.
