What can’t you do currently? 4 households together in Scotland is the only restriction I can see.

Its 3. I can’t go to work for over 50 hours a week without having to wear a mask. It’s debilitating, it’s an horrendous experience but here we are having to do it. I can’t go anywhere without a mask but again, some might accept that and have no problems but I’m afraid I do and always will do.

It’s not normal, it’s not an acceptable way of life and it never will be.

Horrendous wearing a mask. Ok.

Guess we have different interpretations of the word horrendous.

At least you can go to football or a concert as long as you prove that you are not unclean.
Of course, because you can still contract and pass on the virus, double vaccination doesn’t mean that, but hey ho, at least they are ”doing something”.
You don't have to be double or triple jabbed to get into football matches and gigs - a negative LFT will do.

I do feel though with Omicron being far more transmissable that it should be a negative LFT for all and not just either/or

Obviously but then we all don’t share the same daily experiences in work do we or what we have to do to earn a crust?

I’ve done everything asked of me, always will but for a tiny minority and those who happily follow every word, it will never be enough.

Covid obviously affects people differently but I've had nothing other than what's been the same as when I've had flu and needed to be off for a day or two from work.

Got to isolate until Wednesday next week though. Reckon I'll be karchering back yard tomorrow and I might get the Vax out to do the carpets Friday to relieve the boredom.

Glad I'm double jabbed because I'm aware it could be much worse as a bloke over the road who's the same age as me ended up in ICU. He was anti vaccination. He's far fitter than I am too as he's into rock climbing and shit whereas I'm into drinking stout and City.

I just can’t see how the U.K. or indeed any country will be able to operate by the start of next week. If people need to isolate for ten days after testing positive, and it’s so transmissible, then transport, retail, education, heavens everything, will just have to close down for a fortnight.

To my mind, it’s not worth getting angry about. We can’t change it, so it just seems wasted energy to me.

I’m sorry it upsets/angers you. Truly.

Wearing a mask is inconvenient and I have to wear contact lenses on days that I need to wear one for prolonged periods of time.

However, the actual wearing of a mask shows to me that the other person cares about what’s going on and the health of others, not just themselves.

It’s hard when after 2 years of lockdown and restrictions and having had 3 injections in still told it’s not enough?

Time to live with covid and not be ruled by it imo.

We are probably a year away from even thinking of doing that. Firstly, we need to put in place a health service that can cope with Covid and continue to function normally for everything else. We will not do that. Secondly, vaccines/annual boosters and pills etc should mitigate the worse effects (which we appear to be seeing with Omicron), but may not be enough to shield a health service ran on thin margins, so unless we do point one, we will be forever vulnerable to these winter panics.

The other issue is data. We don’t have enough hard data on Covid, and won’t have enough for a good few years. Without hard data and the confidence to rely on that data, we are always going to get these annual emergency restrictions or at least the threat of them.

Covid has shaped and will continue to shape the way we behave, which by definition is ‘living with it’.
