Don’t normally get unwell. I’ve had the confirmation that I’m positive today. Jesus I feel terrible. Headache, Fever, sore throat, cough etc… Knocked me for 6 this but at least my breathing is ok.

Omicron?

I read today, a professor, whose name I have forgotten, suggest that Omicron does not seem to be affecting the lungs and it is planting itself in the throat. He explained it in a far better way though :)

More than half of Westminster's population (based on estimates but will be confirmed in the Census) were born outside of the UK. The [proportion of homes in which English is spoken is equivalent to the number of homes in which Bengali and Arabic are spoken. I suspect that the 2021 Census data will indicate that the populations of all, or almost all, London boroughs will be more than 50% BAME. Worth noting that Westminster is within the 30%-40% most deprived boroughs in the country.

London boroughs are the most diverse in the country. This is why it makes me laugh when someone on here claimed that Delta hit the NW before London due to the large number of Indians living up north. There is around eight times more Indians living in London then there are in Leicester (city with second biggest Indian population).

In Manchester 20% of 55-59 year olds are unjabbed. 12-15 is 28%. That's bad. In Westminster. in 55-59 year olds its's 30% unjabbed. This if for double jabbed. There'll be a lot of immigrants in Westminster I imagine and that community doesn't get jabbed so much. Probably don't have GPs

Lowest uptake for jabs are black Caribbean and some Asian communities (not all though and not uniform across the country) and then the poorest members of society. Just rocking up at the Etihad when you are working 4 jobs just to eat and have some warmth isn’t as easy as some people think it is, especially if that involves time off work and a bus fare or two.

As of 2011, ‘white‘ people constituted 61.68% of Westminster’s population and Black/Asian and minority ethnicies made up 38.32%.

When you are stating 'white', are eastern European included in that?

Those figures are way out of date. GLA population estimates (and school surveys) have white British population as around 50% in Westminster.

I've got a really heavy cold (first cold in a couple of years) and a doctor on the radio said that if you have a cold, it's probably Omicron variant
My lateral flow test at home was negative so I went for a PCR yesterday
I was told i would be notified of the results today, but if I didn't ring the number on my card
Nothing through, I ring up to be told it takes up to 72 hours

I'm guessing they will say in a few months, the booster only gives you a small limited time of immunity and a new variant will come along so we have to go get the booster plus
