Scotland data:

No deaths reported. There will be a big catch up on Tuesday of the past 4 days.

Cases 2464 (last week 740 reported).

At 15.2% positivity. Rather high.

I NEVER run from a discussion , you are set in your view

You are not going to be persuaded that things are moving , well over a million have been vaccinated already , the vaccines are being delivered as we speak, you will kill more if you rush huge groups of people together in a rush to get them vaccinated

We are moving a tanker not a boat

You cant have people sat waiting until they are needed to do the job , staff are needed where they should be as numbers in hospitals spiral out of control, as the vaccines are delivered they and recruits will move into place

My friend has been vaccinated at my surgery this week already
So no explanation really then. Not a surprise. Best leave it there i supose. have a good day Kaz.

So without England and the caveat of lots of catch up data confusing week to week comparisons that will not fully be resolved until Wednesday when we get back to ''normal' data - this means....

Total Cases (without England) is 8137 - though much of that covers catch up from over New Years break.

And Deaths with no Scotland data today and no England out of hospital data rarely added on a normal Sunday let alone today are 448.

“Hundreds of new vaccination sites are due to come onstream this week, joining the 700 which are already in operation.
The first Oxford AstraZeneca vaccinations will be delivered at a small number of hospitals for the first few days for surveillance purposes, as is standard practice, before the bulk of supplies are send to hundreds of GP-led services later in the week.
Oxford University NHS Hospitals Trust, where the vaccine was developed, is expected to be among the first sites to administer it on Monday morning.”

please explain the benefit of this delay, and what is the benefit of the surveillance, you may have a couple of people with adverse reactions but on the other hand a days delay will result in the deaths of circa 500 to 800 people. I know what option i would choose. I guess those in charge cant see the correlation.

Same reason they are requring trained experienced dentists to provide proof that they wont radicalise people they vaccinate with the plethora of forms that people have to fill in to join the vaccination programe. Paper work and tick boxes before lives.

Why ask the question ? Seemed a strange one

i was curious if people with Covid are being tracked out and about. I think many testing postive are still going out. I know of someone who drove to a place and went for a run today and she was tested positive in week.

I’d imagine it’s a legal requirement as part of the approval the MHRA gave them.

The monitoring done with the Pfizer vaccine highlighted the averse allergic reactions and potentially saved lives.

Sticking stuff in peoples arm without following due process would definitely increase antivax propaganda

They’ve probably known the vaccine is safe and effective since October but you can’t jump the gun.

I can fully understand why those considered high risk, and the elderly. will want the vaccination ASAP.

My own personal concern is the long term safety of the vaccines. And has been from day one

I suffer with Psoriasis which is an auto immune condition ,and have many allergies. Fuck knows how my body will react to the vaccination immediately, and long term. It is a real concern.

I lost a son to Cot death after his first injection.

My wife works in procurement. Salford are on the ball compared to the smaller hospitals in our region. Hospitals are short staffed, due to people being off work fatigue and stress related illness. Yet the higher banded staff just keep banging the drum and talking about positivity and can do attitudes. There will be all sorts of problems before these vaccinations get rolled out. The staff are exhausted.

No. If you rely on random you tube videos for information you're doomed to ignorance.

Ignore until a reliable source is provided.
Those videos from Dr John Campbell have been brilliant so far and well ahead of the curve. He is an expert in public health and has a global following. I met him some years ago through my work. I would trust him 100 per cent. So far his information has been totally reliable (certainly moreso than what has been put by our government)
