N Ireland only posting basic info today as it is 17 March, of course.

So we know there were 0 deaths - v 8 last week - but not sure if that was in any way impacted by St Patrick's Day.

Cases were 161 versus 147 last week. But that's about it.

Total cases up quite a bit today to 5758.

141 all settings deaths

Cannot tell you testing details as GOv UK have not bothered updating today because N Ireland could not supply details due to the holiday.

GIven the tiny number of tests there that seems rather silly imo. England could have surely done so as it represents the vast majority and both Scotland and Wales have reported this.

Gov UK is often very helpful but it makes rather odd decisions on what to post like this from time to time.

The welfare of others is more important than some morons being able to go to the pub. You don't seem to care about the welfare of others just conspiracy shite. deal with it. You offer no solutions just Trump style "freedom" shit during a pandemic.
No conspiracies here mate, just don't trust governments as far as I can throw them, which given the track record of, I don't know, every government ever, is probably not that daft really.

I don't profess to have solutions. What I do have, which is what i've said repeatedly, that for some reason you can't seem to understand, is that I have concerns about the precedent set by a government mandating that i must have certain documentation to prove certain private things about me that must be shown on request or i can't visit public areas.

To be crystal - my concern has nothing to do with me carrying a little card that says i'm vaccinated so i can get in the alehouse. My concern lies with how this could be expanded and abused in the future by this and other governments.

If you want to show off your medical history to all and sundry mate by all means crack on, but i'd prefer not to.

433, 320 first doses in UK vaccinated today.

Being reported that we have now passed 25 million first jabs 0n the 100th day after the first one in December.

At an average of quarter of a million a day that is truly extraordinary.

My big hope is that THIS persuades the world that the NHS is what they should all model their health care systems upon. Regardless of their politics as this is something above any system or ideology.

Health care of your citizens has to be one of the first duties of a state to its people. Any state.

When done well by dedicated people it clearly works.

Not even in a global pandemic, a pandemic that has killed well over a 100.000 of your countrymen and women? Not even to help save lives? A truly astonishing stance, crazy.

look, i honestly think you are right to be concerned about some of the things you have posted about but this is a pandemic. There is no other option bar putting lives at risk because of the selfish decisions of morons. Saving lives is enough of a reason for me and i will tell you now that come june 21st when most if not all of those willing to have a jab will have had one, the population will want covid passports too, it won't even be that controversial. No doubt the morons shouting now will quietly get the vaccine when the want to go on holiday or a night club.

It seems 'precedent' is the word you're struggling with. I edited my previous post to include the following, but will add it again here for you:

Conspiracy nonsense when the only reason it would happen is a perfectly valid one. You offer no solutions just what ifs and tin foil theories. You should have more concern for the lives and well being of human beings during a global pandemic.

GM Summary

GM had another patchy day. Highest percentage of NW for several months today . Up week to week. Up in day by 38 of the 55 the NW as a region rose by to over 400 cases and Manchester in three figures for the first time in 3 weeks. Though only just (literally 100) and probably school testing related.

Manchester alone created more than the full rise as others, such as Wigan, Bolton and Stockport were down on yesterday, Everyone else in GM had OK days not up much at all.

North West again not the highest cases region. Yorkshire was as it has been all week.

The Midlands up a lot too and not far behind NW today.

Looks like bad news on Vaccines for under 50's from April 1st

Wonder if it is related to the EU restriction some supplies or some issues around the safety concerns with AZ

hmm, we still have a bit of a thread problem as this is being discussed over on the vaccine thread too

They are still saying all will be done by July. Just that they are prioritising the over 50s during the shortage next month. When they also have to do many more second jabs for the over 60s. Which they have to do first because of the 12 week time table. It is unfortunate but unless the delay lasts longer than 4 weeks should not mean the end of July schedule for all adults is lost. Just reorganised.

Are hospitalisations and deaths not the most important figures now?

Bugger, were you on the placebo then?

Mrs Moon had the real thing and had no reaction to either the first or follow-upjab.
I don’t know what I’ve had. On April 1st I’ll have a jab of either the placebo or the real thing, depending on what I had in September. But I’ll never know which was which. You only get unblinded if you leave the trial.
