4 of my pals tested positive this week down here in Kent.
Agreed, but nine months doesn't seem too long to get some kind of rigorous plan into operation for the rollout.People need to calm down , rolling out mass vaccination prog is never going to be easy
New guidelines change the interval between doses, people will get the same vaccine each time, seemed quite clear about this in the announcement unless the published guidelines say different? So those who have already had a Pfizer for first dose will get that as their second dose.I'm no expert, but some people are questioning whether having one dose of the Pfizer vaccine and then a dose of the AZ vaccine some time after is effective, and it sounds like there's not been much, if any, research on this. They have every reason to voice their concern.
We were warned repeatedly at the outset that vaccines were fraught with problems and at least 18 months off but the trials were remarkably successful and very timely. There was far too much optimism on vaccines right from the start of the pandemic for me, and still is.

It’s been reported to increase the effectiveness of the first dose (within the 12 week duration agreed by the MHRA). 70% efficacy / protection for the first dose of the Oxford / AC vaccine was reported on the radio.Yeah, this was my reason for putting it as alarming, as the original dose period has gone from 21 days to 12 weeks? Surely that’d hinder the effectiveness of the 1st dose? Maybe I’m getting confused.

New Year's Eve: UK sees in 2021 with fireworks and light show
It comes as most people heeded warnings to stay home - but police issued fines to those who didn't.www.bbc.co.uk
You can plan as much as you like, but if the supply isn't there whatever the reason, you can't deliver.Agreed, but nine months doesn't seem too long to get some kind of rigorous plan into operation for the rollout.
It will also require people to stick to the bloody rules rigorously, something that many still seem to find difficult or impossible.Agreed. Defeating the virus will require a vaccine, but it will require international cooperation of unprecedented levels, and until that happens, individual countries will continue to set undeliverable targets and make meaningless comparisons and contrasts, all the while wasting time and lives.
This is not what is being proposed , people will get two doses of the same vaccine , it is the time interval that has changed.I'm no expert, but some people are questioning whether having one dose of the Pfizer vaccine and then a dose of the AZ vaccine some time after is effective, and it sounds like there's not been much, if any, research on this. The evidence the MHRA have suggests that it increases the effectiveness for the Oxford vaccine.Yeah, this was my reason for putting it as alarming, as the original dose period has gone from 21 days to 12 weeks? Surely that’d hinder the effectiveness of the 1st dose? Maybe I’m getting confused.
The government look like a kid who thinks he can stop a wave at the seaside. He keeps running back on the beach; he knows the wave will eventually come in. Everyone else on the beach has been telling him for hours. He delays the inevitable then finally accepts what everyone had been telling him. We know the new variant is spreading. We have the vaccine on its way. So why they are delaying the inevitable national lockdown beggars belief.REGIONAL SCOREBOARD
Not good news for the North West.
The only region in the north still going up today despite lower numbers
We are starting to look on the same track as the South just a week or two behind unfortunately.
The drones were decent..Oh feck I missed them. Missus said they were cancelled. Clearly an excuse so she could keep Sound of Music on.
Feckers. I part contributed to them.
There is one , it is getting out and a million have been vaccinated , patienceAgreed, but nine months doesn't seem too long to get some kind of rigorous plan into operation for the rollout.
These vaccines have been on the horizon for a while. I'm sure after all the money wasted on ppe stuck in container ports a bit of foresight could have been used to make it a little bit easier to prepare for vaccinations. Lessons learnt and all thatYou can plan as much as you like, but if the supply isn't there whatever the reason, you can't deliver.
That's worrying. Stay safe.4 of my pals tested positive this week down here in Kent.
4.9 million according to the 2018 census, though that presumably doesn’t include the snowbirds.
Its the same in every village, here in Monton the crowds gather outside Costa all day every day.Just driven through Uppermill and there's three places on the High Street selling coffee. Loads of customers all crowded round on the pavement, no-one keeping any distance apart, no face masks, total dickheads.
