Better late than never.
Those scenes yesterday in merseyside are not football's fault to be fair, the players being stupid with celebrations are my worry, especially as the latest round found another 36 positives in the PL alone.

Although my parents live in Glossop, their surgery is in Tameside, so are being administrated from there, and my dad has had both jabs, and my mum is booked for her first on Thursday.
My sister gets her first jab tomorrow at Hyde as part of Adult Care Team. I’m originally from Ashton and most of my elderly relatives still living there have been ‘done’.

ENGLAND HOSPITAL DATA REGIONS LAST 24 HOURS

REGION /// PATIENTS/Up/Down/v 7 days ago /// VENTILATORS/Up/Down/v 7 days ago

MIDLANDS /// 5524 - up 230 v 4499 last wk /// 477 - up 11 v 367 last wk

NE/YORKSHIRE /// 3392 - up 164 v 2828 last wk /// 246 - up 10 v 192 last wk

SOUTH WEST /// 1936 - up 144 v 1401 last wk /// 158 - up 14 v 97 last wk

London still rising patients but North West not far behind and accelerating sadly. 600 0ver its wave one peak in hospital too. Midlands high also.

South West though with pro rata a concerning rise and big leap in ventilators here for an area that had ZERO on them for months last year either side of the two waves.

London though is rising a lot with ventilators and is now over its first wave peak on them which was 1057.

East is also over the April Peak on ventilators. AS in South East well over their 355 peak in April.

Midlands is just 8 short of its peak of 485.

NE & Yorks is some way short of its 305 as yet as is North West of its 350 in April.

But South West is almost double its 1080 patients and well over its 128 ventilators from April.

The above is a snapshot of why the NHS around the UK needs the numbers to start turning around before they are in rather deep water

Yes seems they are on the ball, not something you normally associate with Tameside and health to be honest.

my dad knows 2 people that have gone in to Tameside for non covid issues and have ended up dieing of covid in there.

The missus got her first jab of the vaccine. I actually told her that it also boosts your sex drive...She replied 'Does it really?' I hope she has it in her head now that it does :)

Before I get lambasted with 'Covid isn't funny' bla bla bla calm down people it's just a bit of harmless humour.
Be on the safe side, get up at 04:00 hours in the morning and delete like I do : /

Made me smile pal. Sort of thing id say to my nanna

The hospital has long had a not great reputation to be fair, I've no idea as I've not lived there since 1981, only what I hear from relatives.
Believe it or not Tameside had the highest mortality rate of any hospital in UK for Covid after the first wave in late Summer.

Probably changed since then.

Just checked Barnsley and Wigan have now overtaken it but it is still third in the UK and with Blackpool fourth three of the top 4 with highest Covid deaths per population are in the NW.

Does everyone need a vaccine before normality comes back? How much longer could people cope with this. Autumn is a long long way away

I went in tameside A&E with slight breathing issues and a funny feeling around my shoulders, in 2019. Turned out i had had a heart attack and needed a triple heart bypass. They most definitely saved my life. Nothing but good things to say about them. The staff were absolutely fantastic.
