I hope they outlaw those fucking stupid plastic visors that people wear as a mask.
They don’t stop anything.

while I agree they dont stop much ( if anything ), having a close relative who cannot wear a mask for long ( 10 /20 mins at most ) due to COPD its better than nothing. and better than the abuse she gets for not wearing a mask.

If you are that vulnerable should you be outside?

strangely COPD isn't on the shielding list. Her husband is housbound ( and on the shielding list due to heart issues) so when they need something she has to pop out and get it.

vast majority of shopping is done online but there are always bit that need to be picked up, medicines from pharmacies and trips to hospitals etc.

One good thing is that so far there has been very little reason for the anti-vax mob to be all over this. We've had 2.5m jabs given in this country and you can count the number of scary stories on one hand. Was dreading reading almost hourly negative headlines over-analysing every slight bad reaction. Seems pretty good so far, touch wood!

The ones who make me laugh are the ones who say they are medically exempt when challenged about not wearing a mask but are out shopping with their partners, hows about you stay in the fcuking car or at home and let your mask wearing partner do the shopping.
In all the months so far ive seen 1 exemption badge, in what 11 months? And that was only on friday. Ive heard the excuse a fucking million times though

People are now being officially rationed Ventilators and CPAP machines in the West Midlands. Its been like that for 5 days in Essex.
This new variant has released a tsunami on the NHS and broken it.
They have loads more ventilators and CPAP machines than they had in March/April but it's just not enough.

I don't think anti-vax is anywhere near as prevalent in this country as social media would have you believe.

My Nan is 77 but pretty knackered with briefing issues and had a stroke in the last two years which has made her more like 85 than 77, but she’s not been called yet.

Think we just have to be patient mate and keep them shielded until the day comes.
Boris also has briefing issues.. hope hers aren’t as bad as his...

I posted before 400k have had both in round terms. Someone posted - Dominilho??! “ not sure if this is a joke”

I stated “no”

no response as yet.

Agreed I'd walk to the hospital or wherever over broken glass barefoot at 3am if it was needed.
I have walked barefoot at 3am. On more than one occasion. May 2012 and May 2014 if I remember correctly. Maybe in May 2019 too, but that might have just been shoeless and I managed to retain my socks.

I saw a post on SM at the weekend from someone who decided that they could drive 30 miles to a beauty spot for a walk as it was important to the whole family for their mental health. Not only did they do it, they then posted about it complete with pictures, 40 people commented saying well done you and 90 liked it! Unfortunately this will be being replicated all over the country.
Driving for a walk is not contributing to the spread of this disease or the crush in the hospitals. It's Christmas and all other unnecessarily socialising that is doing it.

It probably doesn't help that my brother and my auntie are both down that rabbit hole! Also, it was more a comment that I'm glad the media haven't been feeding that particularly sordid beast, when I'm almost certain they could have if they wanted to in some way.
