Few mentions of Glasto in here today.

Whilst it's a bit of a blow to the festival/events/entertainment industry to see it cancelled, it was pretty much inevitable.

It's one of the earlier festivals in the summer calendar, and by all accounts its a 6 month logistical operation to get it all ready. Which basically means they had to decide this month whether to go for it or not. I imagine it would've been a financial disaster to crack on in the unlikely event it could happen, to only then have to call it off in April/May.

Some of the smaller festivals might have a chance of going ahead, though time will tell.

Really feel for everyone connected to the live music industry, them and travel have been absolutely battered and there is no end in sight.

Cannot wait to go to a gig again when the time is right.
Got Keane and the Doves in Delamere forest in July to look forward to plus New Order in September in Heaton park.. hope these go ahead.

Fingers crossed for you buddy.

You'd assume events like that can make a relatively late decision on the feasibility of it going ahead, something larger festivals can't really do.

Maybe our 2021 summer festival season will merge into smaller one off events over just a day or an afternoon/evening that can be organised and arranged with little notice?

At the moment it's hard to see something like Leeds/Reading weekend fest happening, but come Spring, and assuming a successful continuation of the vaccine rollout, then there could be hope for some summer pop up events and limited one day festivals maybe?

Come summer I'd love nothing more than being shafted for 7 quid for a pint of warm lager whilst awaiting a band to come on stage.

All a show. Schools were told by DfE this week they would lose all funding for nursery children if they weren’t seen to be encouraging their attendance. And they massively widened the key worker criteria. And some parents are selfish arseholes. We had SEVEN kids in during 1st lockdown all children of NHS or care home staff. We have 72 in next week with more to follow. This will kill people. Parents brothers sisters, teachers TAs caretakers, it will help overload the hospitals so forgive me but their shouting is all a facade ( and yes, I do know it should have a cedilla!). They are utterly fucking inept and downright lethal
Why are you a teacher if you hate teaching children so much?
Why, as a deputy head, can you not show some leadership to those around you?

You should be celebrating the fact that you have children in school as you are providing an essential service as well as educating them beyond what they would have at home.

Tell me how many nurseries have had to isolate because of Covid?
How many 3-10 year olds have passed on the virus to your litany of people who you feel have been wronged?

From my experience the people passing Covid around in schools are the staff themselves who are unable/unwilling to follow the rules and not inform us when they have the symptoms.

Surely you should be praising and thanking the staff at your school for the commitment they are showing to the children they work with for providing an environment where 72 of the parents are confident to send their children to you, unlike before where they didn’t trust schools.

As a public servant isn’t your primary duty to serve the public? Thank goodness NHS staff aren’t as quick to hide as you are.
