Thanks for the response but I dont think it really answered my question. Why havent they banned the Pfizer vaccine if they have also encountered a similar ammount of blood clots in those patients.

I suppose the obvious question is "have they encountered that for Pfizer?"

It comes down to what is reported to them, and then collating the data and people involved to see if there is a case. That takes time to do.

It is unthinkable that a regulator would carry on allowing administration of something that is being reported for downsides. That would absolutely ruin trust in the regulator.

You do not have to be an anti vaxxer to think half the world saying no and the UK saying - nothing to see here all is well - they are all just being cautious - would result in plenty saying - OK - well so am I. Give me one of the others.
Imagine if this was the russian or chinese vaccines, there'd be hundreds on here saying "I'm not having one of theirs".

Can't say I'm concerned due to the numbers who have already had it here, if there was something of serious concern we'd have known weeks ago, but I don't think it's very helpful for those that haven't had it yet, and at this moment in time, there are only the 2 that we can have in the UK, until the third one has some supply available.

I do agree that we need the medical experts to come out and say something, but keep government out of it.

Yes, the hair thing is getting serious. My camera is now switched off. As my hair has been getting longer, I shaved off my beard as I was beginning to look feral. Cannot wait to get a trim.
My cam is closed off for many meeting now too. Strangely I'm not bother when out and about walking the dog.
I think the vid calls just pin points ones self conscious nature. The tech has been ace throughout all this has been ace but no substitute to how we really act in front of real people.

But yeah....my hair is a tip.

EMA just announced it's safe and to carry on using.

What is going on lol.

And I’m due to have it tomorrow, lol.

You should try the cat filter (as used by the American layer, I think it was). ;)

The WHO say AZ is safe. The regulators in UK and EU say it is safe. So who started the clot idea?

Spain trying to out trump other European countries by announcing that they won't be administering AZ for at least the next fifteen days.

These countries must be very confident that they will be getting plentiful supplies of other vaccines as they seem dead set on killing off any confidence their populations have in AZ.

The good news is that so far there is no obvious drop in the UK publics perception of it.

I’m normally pro-European, but I can’t believe how badly Europe has handled this. Seems very fishy to me that they are suspending AZ but not Pfizer, which has caused issues and even been linked to deaths in the US (I’m sure the vaccine didn’t cause this by the way).

Just heard a story from my brother-in-law that friends they know in Italy have reported large queues for vaccines only to be told that there are not enough doses in some cases. My gut feeling is that this report of possible issues has given health authorities a convenient excuse for some breathing space.

Still, I’m a cynical bugger.
