Germany still has 3 million over 80s unvaccinated. That is really sad in such a developed nation.
They’ll be sitting for a while unless they turn to other outside sources for help with vaccines. Don’t think the US will help as the new administration effectively adopted Trump’s approach with “America first”.

A few things from that thread:
1. AZ results in less post-vax thrombosis than Pfizer OR Moderna
2. Blood clot rate for women taking the pill ~ 100 per millions versus AZ ~ 30 per million.

This is political, isn’t it?
Yes, these idiot politicians on the big peninsula of North West Asia are coming out of this looking very shady indeed. Just a bunch of opportunist wankers if you ask me. But their decision making over this could leave them in a very bad position. I’d usually say “fuck em”, but unfortunately these idiot politicians are impacting lots of regular decent people.

Why are they coming up with different conclusions and recommendations based on similar data sets for Pfiezer. Do you not think that is strange. Also why are the EMA and WHO saying its safe.

It's based on emerging reports. I works guess there have not been the same emerging reports for Pfizer. I've little doubt if there were, they'd do the same.

EMA are saying it's safe enough to continue whilst investigating.

National regulators can, and do, take different views of risk/ benefit.

I think the varied countries have taken far too risk averse a position. But I see no evidence whatever that it's politically driven, and I could quote you other areas where regulators have been far more ludicrously risk averse.

See the quotes from the Paul Ehrlich Institute above. These are serious, science based people.

It's my 3rd one mate, I thought sod it i'll just stay in until the sirens go off like that Japanese soldier in the jungle after WW2.
Are you talking about the letter regarding the local Elections in May? If so it's a load of bollocks, the date for people classed as extremely vulnerable to stay indoors ends on the 31st of March

It doesn't mention elections mate, but it was my 3rd letter.

I'm on the extremely vulnerable list, and i got a letter telling me that if I'm not happy to go and vote nominate someone to do it for me, oh and if you do come bring your own pencil

Portugal as well now suspended AZ - pissed off as was given the nod my 86 year old mum would finally get hers this week so that’s looking shot.

a complete screw up which is just going to give anti Vaxxers a collective hard on and set us back months with the unnecessary fear this will cause. Leaves us with Pfizer really in the eu as J&J are already getting their excuses out.

GM summary:

336 cases - up 19 from 317.

North West up 122 to 739.

So GM falls as % of NW by 4.7% to 46.7% - lowest in 10 days.

Wk to wk:- 654 v 964 v 368 v 325 v 336 Very flat last 2 weeks.

Score highlights:

Wigan is top scorer - not Manchester - at 55 - up 16 week to week too.

Manchester still doing well and below at 52 today - though up week to week too by just 4.

Salford in third with 40 which is down 2 week to week.

At the other end Bury is the lowest and retains the lowest weekly cases title recently snatched from Trafford. With 16 cases also down 4 week to week.

Trafford only just behind at 18 and down 6 week to week.

Oldham did well too on just 22 and down 11 week to week.

The other 4 boroughs in between topped by Bolton and Stockport both on 36. Both up week to week. Bolton by 7 and Stockport by 9. Though both down from yesterday.

Tameside on 31 is up 1 week to week and Rochdale on 30 is down 3.

So again probably Stockport faring the least well. With Trafford also a huge 120 ahead of Stockport for best Pop Score in the pandemic. A similar lead to one Stockport had a couple of months ago. But with no sign of any comeback here.
