we are going to do the same. Thankfully we’ve got enough flexibility in our schedule this year with the wife on Mat leave and me being self-employed to just go whenever the weather is good.

It’s actually quite refreshing to read the article. The frustration on the part of the head of the Italian programme comes across quite clearly. At least he is saying it will only take two or three days for them to assess the data.

During which time, tens or maybe hundreds of thousands of people could have received their first dose of vaccine.

Can they be this inept? I struggle to believe that they don't have some good grounds to investigate but we have seen no good evidence yet. Duty bound you maybe to investigate but you don't suspend a vaccination campaign in the middle of an epidemic unless you have evidence that the risks outweigh the benefits. Where is the evidence?

Italy entering fresh lockdown, looks like France following

Do we think it will happen in the uk again ?

I sincerely hope we have cracked this virus with the jabs we are having. But are we relying on the jabs to much ?

Things to me look very similar to the last time we came out of lockdown. Some school around here have already sent some groups home to self isolate.
Every day I drive pass around 200 kids they walk from the train station to the school in one basically large group. Most without mask , no social distancing they stand out side school in groups again no masks or social distancing.
I would have thought perhaps the teachers would be outside stopping these groups but no.

Now if this was a group of adults doing this the police would be stopping it , so why arent the school kids stopped ? Do school tell them to social distancing when coming to school ?

I do get abit nervous when I see these large groups of kids every day ignoring government guidelines and nothing is done to stop them.
Like lots of people our lives have been on hold for over a year now, cant see our family, friends etc. And than I see 100's of kids ignoring government guidelines.
I am tired and want to get back to normal.

This is what happened last time the kids went back ignoring all the government guidelines and we ended up in lockdown again

I appreciate and understand your concerns and I would have shared them only a few short months ago. Truth be told I think the more we learn about this thing is that the big positive is spread outdoors is extremely limited. So if kids are gathering outdoors but teachers are able to maintain some sort of control re congregating and mask wearing combined with appropriate ventilation indoors then I wouldn't worry too much.

I would also hope, that our rate of vaccination may see cases rise but hopefully not to the same extent if it is indeed cutting transmission, and more crucially again although cases might rise then the big hope is that they will not convert to serious illness or death due to the numbers of vulnerable people immunised. Of course, there are millions of people still not protected so this is all dependant on our vaccination programme ramping up as we're promised will happen.

Maybe I'm being too hopeful, and will be brought back down with a devastating bump. But these are my thought's going forward if I understand the situation correctly.

We have to, because as you can see we can't have faith in people (volunteers and front line excepting).

The UK yellow card data on both vaccines say - they're fine. Less problems than traditional vaccines actually. There is a very very small problem with the reverse issue of blood clotting with both vaccines, but again it is well below the population average (similar micro % for both vaccines).
The only issue is for allergy prone people - and that is standard for all vaccines.
It is purely political to hide their shite vaccine roll outs.
