Greater Manchester did not have quite so good a day sadly.

Not a disaster - but North West FELL by a whole 6 cases day to day - whilst GM went UP by 49 to 385.

That is - though - down week to week versus 449 last Monday.

However, enough to increase the % split by a 2021 high of 5.8% in one day to 52.5% of NW total. Most for over 3 months.

Once again Wigan had more cases than Manchester today - 65 v 56 - with Manchester well down wk to wk (by 34) and Wigan well up wk to wk (by 18).

Bolton was again third at 48 - up 12 in day and 11 wk to wk.

Tameside fourth with 43 up 12 day to day and 5 wk to wk.

So as you see a few rising Weekly Pop numbers still here.

Stockport next - up 4 to 40 - but down 6 week to week.

Salford even better- down 6 to 34 and down 22 week to week.

Oldham - though - was up both daily (by 13) to 35 and week to week (by 2)

Rochdale at 28 was down 2 day to day and 6 week to week

And the usual two best in GM had somewhat different days.

Bury - who have done so well - were up 11 to 27 - also up 7 week to week.

Whereas Trafford reasserted itself over the threat from Bury by falling 9 day to day and a whopping Pop Score enhancing 29 week to week - clocking up another single figure number of just 9.

Well ahead of the rest of GM today.

Regionally - small changes everywhere. With Yorkshire still top having gone up just 6 to 811 whilst NW fell 6 to 733.

Not one area today changed numbers day to day by more than about 60 and most were less than that.

England is as flat as a pancake right now in terms of raw numbers.

Every region between South West 232 and North East 251 and NW and Yorkshire up in the 700/800 range.

With all the rest in the middle - from East and West Midlands 448 / 552 via London at 451, South East at 458 and East at 442.

You could not really see much more in the way of equanimity.

You may not agree with the decision, but it appears to be clearly motivated by a possibility of a small number of fatalities associated with the vaccine.

I really don't think that counts as "face saving" or "shenanigans" as another poster put it.

It doesn't necessarily mean suspension was the best way to handle this either, of course, given that we're in a pandemic.

Its the incidence of a rare type of clot that is the issue, not the overall number. Germany reckon the rare clot occurs post vaccination at 3 times its normal rate. Still tiny, tho'.
There must be a joke about rare clots in there.
Was my thinking.
A specific type of clot rather than a general clot.
Still, extremely rare and perhaps a little understandable as to the holding back....

Had to decline a Invitation from my Doctors yesterday for a vaccine because I’ve already booked 28/3 at Etihad. My wife who is just under the 55yrd old bracket had hers booked also .. They are flying through them now

They were flooding through the doors of my local clinic where I’ve just been, I’m sure figures tomorrow will be big as I think today was the day that the increased supply kicked in, if I remember correctly.
When I made a booking on the national website 2 weeks ago the earliest Sheffield option was 29 March, so I travelled to Wakefield to get it done on Sunday.

Yesterday Mrs Unicorn (next age band down) got an invite from the local practice and is booked in for Thursday at local church. I'm guessing there's been a huge ramp-up this week.

That's exact same scenario as me. My wife would have beaten me to the jab despite being in next bracket if I hadn't booked outside my city. Vaccine supply clearly ramping up.
