The amount of guests at weddings could be increased. A Government Minister on breakfast news hinted at that.

Up to £10mil jabs can be given in the extra 4 weeks. People who have had both jabs have a tiny chance of being hospitalised, thereby supporting the range of health services and tackling waiting lists for operations.

I haven’t followed the data much over recent times but there is a case of extending the few remaining info restrictions for another 4 weeks.
Equally, the number of guests at weddings should be increased because it’s virtually pointless when pubs are packed with crowds watching the Euros.
I think it depends on whether they say another 4 weeks is the max. But if they just say, another 4 weeks at the earliest, and then reviewed, its basically the summer gone for most events.

It's the right decision..we'll be in a much better place by then..4 weeks will fly,,keep jabbing
It’s the inevitable decision. But that doesn’t mean it’s OK. If people hadn’t flown to India during a period when we were banned from travelling, if they’d bothered to self isolate, and if the government had kept some border controls, we wouldn’t be in this mess.

I see your point but I think they can only guarantee 4 weeks is the end of the situation doesn’t worsen. Like I said, I would like to see some momentum maintained towards being opened up fully with flexibility for weddings so we continue to feel like we are going in the right direction

I agree it is right, however the cynic in me suggests they will find something else to delay it again in 4 weeks.
It's ok for people to say "oh it's only 4 weeks", however it must be remembered that thousands more could potentially lose their jobs potentially and more business's could go bust in the hospitality sector. Plus the mental health of people again takes a hit.
Like I say it's the right choice but there are other things to consider here that people don't think about.

Completely correct decision unfortunately. Get another 4 weeks jabs done. Try and drive these rising cases down. We'll get there.

Pretty much sums it up.

Precisely, Hancock also lied again through his teeth about the Indian variant positivity testing rates of Pakistan, Bangladesh and India when asked about them by the toothless waste of space parlimentary select Committee. The Police and CPS should be brought in so these people can be properly held to account for their incompetence.

I really hope Hancock gets his componence sometime soon. How this man is still in a job is unbelievable.

Down to 42 cases here yesterday. Considering we were at 17000 at the end of March, it has been a good turn round.

Also they've announced they will start vaccinating 12-15 year olds later this Summer (at present only those over 16 are being done) which means my youngest daughter should be able to get hers once they've finished the 16+ group.

In 5weeks with the vaccination rollout, we open up for good, no going back..

How do you feel about that? Mine are all over 18, so not a decision I have to make.

Not entirely at ease with it but I can hardly complain about adults not having it if I don't allow my daughter to. My older children have all had it now.

I know at 15 she's unlikely to suffer much from Covid but she can still catch it and pass it on. The only real way to beat it seems to be vaccination so I will register her for it when we are able.

Sadly the chattering classes are more concerned with their holidays than a pandemic. It makes me want to puke.
