Last Thursday I started with a cough and thought I had caught a cold as I was sneezing runny nose etc.
By Sunday I felt really iffy and as I have COPD and asthma her indoors made me go to the walk in centre..they put me on oxygen for 30 mins and sent me home with antibiotics.
Mrs blue has been taking lateral flow tests daily and all negative but she felt bad on Monday so phoned work to say she wouldn't be in, her boss said get a PCR test so she had one Monday..positive and she was shocked..had mine yesterday and got results positive too..
Thankfully we both been double jabbed and not feeling as bad as we were.
I probably caught in hospital Sunday/Monday when I had knee op.
We both have to isolate till Monday..still find it hard to believe that some people don't want to be vaccinated IE the protestors etc..crazy
Not sure if just anecdotal but I know loads who felt crap, LFT's all negative yet positive when they did a PCR.

I feel quite rough at the minute. I've got a sore throat, a bit of a cough and feel so drained and tired. Taken 3x lateral flow tests this week and all were negative. Debating whether to get a PCR but don't know if I can be bothered. I'm just staying in and not mixing with others to avoid giving them whatever I've got.

I'm not sure the lateral flow tests are any good.

Mrs Blue did lateral flow tests daily and all negative but tested positive with pcr test.
My son works as a gas installer so has to do daily tests as he visits vulnerable people and his company were using the same lateral flow tests but were advised to change them to Flow flex ones ( free from pharmacies etc)
He caught covid but when he did lateral flow test again negative used the flow flex one and positive..
I think the NHS test n trace rapid antigen test are crap to be honest.. Try the flow flex ones from pharmacy and check results or go for pcr test

ZOE APP DATA

TODAYS DATA

REGIONS:-

AS YOU MIGHT EXPECT FROM THE BIG RISE IN CASES NO GOOD NEWS HERE EITHER BUT WITH A SILVER LINING

North West RISES 2 places to fourth in the upper watch zone - with one of its HIGHEST one day increases on Zoe in months. Amd the highest today.

NORTH WEST UP to 958 / 1254 FROM 883 / 1165

UP TOP:-

THERE ARE SIX NOW IN THE HIGHEST WATCH ZONE

WALES STILL FIRST and but FLAT on 1129 / 1561 FROM 1130 / 1559 - Still wll clear of the others in the upper watch zone

EAST MIDLANDS stll in second place coming fast from from outside the upper watch zone over past 3 days and UP today on 973 / 1315 FROM 938 / 1272.

THIS MATCHES THE REAL DATA AS OVER PAST DAYS EAST MIDLANDS HAS GONE WELL UP

YORKSHIRE is in third and UP on Zoe rising again today. Just behind East Midlands but up by LESS than NW today on 958 / 1296 FROM 927 / 1255

Indeed North West almost went above it into third as well as the other two regions it overtok in last 24 hours and may well do so tomorrow at current numbers.

NORTHERN IRELAND is fifth though also UP only very slightly on 607 / 1691 FROM 605 / 1654

NORTH EAST falls to sixth below after also going up only slightly and far less than today's NW increase. UP to 837 / 1330 FROM 833 / 1321

NOT LOOKING PROMISING FOR NW AND GM CASES TONIGHT WITH EASILY THE WORST NUMBERS TODAY

THERE ARE NOW THREE REGIONS IN THE MIDDLE WATCH ZONE

WEST MIDLANDS rises into seventh after another big rise - UP on 767 / 1064 FROM 710 / 1004

And SCOTLAND in eighth had the best day well DOWN today- on 687 / 983 FROM 718 / 1015

And moving up a zone into here from the lower one is the long term BEST in UK now going up aga9n afte falling dramatically followng the beach visiror rise in the Summer sun:

SOUTH WEST UP on 667 / 863 FROM 594 / 788

OVER THE PAST 48 HOURS SW HAS BEEN THE BIGGEST RISER OF ALL

THE LOWER WATCH ZONE NOW CONTAINS ONLY THE OTHER THREE SOUTHERN REGIONS - THE GEOGRAPHICAL SPLIT NORTH/SOUTH NOW TOTAL MUCH AS IN THE REAL CASE DATA - THOUGH MOST PLACES ARE GOING UP A LOT EVEN HERE

AT THE BOTTOM (AS IN BEST IN UK) ARE THE SOUTHERN REGIONS:-

EAST moves above London today to be THE best region in UK edging up UP on 641 / 845 FROM 622 / 821

LONDON is now next to best in UK but also edging UP 646 / 843 FROM 627 / 820

SOUTH EAST is now closest to risng into the middle watch zone as South West did today BUT rsing the most in the south UP on 671 / 823 FROM 601 / 745.

So all the southern regions some way back of the rest of the UK but also going UP and wth the lowest at 641 this is the highest 'LOW' score in the UK here for many weeks

AGAIN NO GOOD NEWS IN THESE NUMBERS TODAY APART FROM SCOTLAND

When I got COVID I had loads of negative LF tests. Apparently they are useless once youi've developed symptoms. Have a PCR mate.

Get well soon, any cancer treatment or other conditions in the past that could have compromised your immune system? Friend of a friend (I never met him) was 63 when he died from Covid about a month ago. Ran marathons, Tour of Tameside, fit as a fiddle but had chemotherapy a couple of years ago.
No nothing of the sort. Just think it can affect people in different ways. What is interesting is after 4 days I tested negative with a LFT which I accept isn’t 100% but the last 3 days have all been negative. This would indicate the infectiousness is before the symptoms have even presented themselves and therefore it will continue to spread as the 10 day isolation is pointless given the horse has already bolted. Accurate home use LFT has to be the way to release people quicker and get them testing everyday without the need of a PCR test

Lateral flow tests are a lot less accurate when you've got symptoms - that what PCR's are for.

Lateral flow tests are very good at picking up asymptomatic infection though.

ZOE APP DATA

TODAY

UNFORTUNATELY THE TREND FROM YESTERDAY WAS MIRRORED IN THE REAL CASES SO NOT LOOKING LIKE A ZOE ERROR AND TODAY IT CONTINUES AS IT WAS LOOKING LIKE IT MIGHT.

GREATER MANCHESTER IS GOING UP AND THE PROBLEM NOW IS WITHOUT A DOUBT CURRENTLY HERE AS MOST OF THE REST OF THE NORTH WEST WHICH WAS THE PROBLEM UNTIL LAST WEEK IS NOW STEADILY FALLING.

LOOKS AS IF THE STOCKPORT PROBLEM THAT THE ENTIRE MEDIA HAS MISSED AND I HAVE BEEN ASKING WHY HAS - AS ALMOST INEVITABLE - STARTED TO SPREAD ACROSS GM.

PROBABLY SCHOOL RELATED EVERYWHERE. BUT WE COULD DO WITH BEING SURE WHAT IS GOING ON AND SOMEONE AT LEAST BEING ON THE BALL OUT THERE.

THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR TWO WEEKS NOW WITH NOT EVEN LOCAL MEDIA ATTENTION. THOUGH THEY DID NOTICE AND REPORT ON THE LANCASTER AND LAKE DISTRICT OUTBREAK LAST WEEK - WHICH STAYS THE HIGHEST IN NW FOR NOW BUT IS FALLING LIKE MERSEYSIDE AND THE WEST HAS BEEN ALL WEEK AND THE WAY GM IS HEADED MAY NOT BE THE BIGGEST WITHIN DAYS,

GREATER MANCHESTER:-

Rochdale is back on top but also UP big on 18, 000 FROM 15, 779

Wigan falls to second - UP on 17, 480 FROM 16, 688 - these two are at the highest GM numbers in over 2 weeks. Showing the spread is occurring.

Stockport back to third and UP again by over 1000 after being fairly flat in past week when it fell below 200 cases a day. 300 cases in Stockport may be a real possibility any day now. On 14, 503 FROM 13, 243 .

Tameside is up into fourth also UP - on 13, 768 FROM 13, 328 which looks right as it is just outperforming Stockport in the real data right now.

Trafford stays fifth and also UP for an entire week now as the rises spread on 12, 522 FROM 10, 933

Oldham moves up into the Upper watch zone too in sixth after a fifth consecutive rise also UP on 11, 497 FROM 9658

Bury edges DOWN slightly in seventh on 10, 861 FROM 10, 884.

Manchester is in eighth and after days of near misses is UP into the 10 K higher watch zone on 10, 142 FROM 9347

NOW ONLY TWO BOROUGHS LEFT IN THE LOWER WATCH ZONE (IT WAS 8 A FEW DAYS AGO)

Bolton edges UP too in ninth rising wevery day for a week and closing in on becoming the next last to go above 10K sadly - UP on 8564 FROM 7272

HOWEVER, STILL EASILY BEST IN GM AFTER WEEKS OF DAILY FALLS AND THE ONLY ONE NOT SHOWING ANY HINT OF GOING NEAR 10K IS :-

Salford - and UP slightly on 3657 FROM 3498 - the last 16 numbers in Salford have ALL been in the 3000s - a low level very hard to explain given the way the rest of GM has been posting.

IF SALFORD STARTS RISING GM IS IN TROUBLE!

REST OF NORTH WEST

St Helens is DOWN again and into the lowest watch zone on 9991 FROM 10, 537 - This was a HUGE drver of the NW numbers and way up in the 30Ks but has fallen steadily over past 10 days - halving numbers in a week - as GM has risen

AS HAVE MOST OF THE OTHERS ON THE WESTERN SIDE OF THE NORTH WEST

Liverpool is DOWN too after days of falls and no longer above all of GM on 11, 017 FROM 12, 615 - it was above ALL of GM a week ago and in the 20Ks but is now below 7 of the 10 GM borough and like St Helens half where it was.

Sefton - though more slowly - going DOWN too on 12, 678 FROM 12, 796

Warrington also DOWN on 10, 351 FROM 10 , 950

THESE FALLS HAVE BEEN VERY CONSISTENT ACROSS THIS PART OF THE REGION JUST AS GM HAS STARTED TO MOVE UP TO JOIN STOCKPORT.

THIS IT SEEMS IS THE REASON WHY GM NUMBERS V NORTH WEST HAVE NOT BEEN SO GOOD IN PAST FEW DAYS.

THE NEW NORTH WEST HOT SPOT:- RIBBLE VALLEY IS ALSO HAPPILY NOW FALLING

DOWN ON 33, 637 FROM 35, 543 AND 37K THREE DAYS AGO

HOWEVER - FURTHER NORTH IN THE REGION IS ALSO STILL A PROBLEM - THOUGH THAT TOO IS NOW FALLING

LAKE DISTRICT NORTH ON 30, 253 FROM 31, 088 - WITH LANCASTER AND MORECAMBE DOWN ON 19, 263

AS FOR THE OTHER AREA OF CONCERN (sorry Andyhinch):-

Cheshire East is STILL well above Stockport as it has been for a week or two now after hardly ever achieving that in the past but now only Rochdale in GM is above it - and only just by 159.

UP to 17, 841 FROM 17, 142 - been consistently over Stockport for two weeks now. And Stockport is not sonewhere you want to be above these days.

BUT still Chester and Cheshire West is higher - though fallen a little over past days like other western parts of the NW - DOWN on 18, 329 FROM 18, 919 AND 19, 376

So now the two parts of Cheshire are closer again and Cheshire East - still rising - could overtake its western neighbour at this rate.

Cheshire is now the main problem in the south of the NW region well above where the Merseyside and surrounding boroughs were for some weeks.
