I think we agree - as I said, this only applies if the fatality rate is high enough to matter, which isn't the case here.
Not entirely true - if it makes you sick enough that you don't feel like going out and spreading it around, even if it doesn't kill you, then it will reduce the effective R0.

143 all settings deaths - was 160 last Friday.

England only 115 V 125 last Friday.

50,584 UK cases - up just 493 on last Friday & down 3361 on yesterday

England only 43,888 - up 1616 on last Friday & down 1992 on yesterday

Do the transport and trains etc count as part of the event, surely you can pick it up from anyone, anywhere.
As mentioned earlier today in here the BBC were this morning reporting the 5000 or so who apparently caught Covid at the Euro 2020 Final at Wembley in July and said then around 2000 or so were on travel to and from not at the match. Though they also said the final was in July 2020 not 2021.

Cases going through the roof over there. Let’s hope deaths don’t follow the same pattern
There were more cases in Gauteng alone today than there were in the entire country yesterday. The number of hospitalisations increased only marginally 274 to 279, but I get the impression that data is lagging. I suppose we’ll know more clearly in the next weeks.
