Coronavirus (2022) thread

Christ you people dont like the numbers up you if they are bad and a valid reason why , enjoy the pile on , you are all on ignore
We just don’t want millions of people to isolate and be miserable, for the fact 400 have died within 28 days of a positive test, when every adult of sound mind knows exactly what the virus does and can make their own decisions on risks.

Plus a significant amount of those will be unvaccinated and therefore made their bed…

It is nothing to do with the numbers being up! Deaths are tragic for whatever reason and we have lost too many people to Covid over the past 2 years as shown by the excess deaths.

However, you only post negative things about Covid and you fail to say what you would have done differently than to what was done over Christmas.

An 'I told you so' attitude is a poor attitude.

What is happening could have been forseen by a chimp , vaccinated or not doesnt matter , they are still deaths to families
Actually it really does matter.

What's your bright idea then, we all spend another Christmas away from our families so a load of anti vaxxers "stay safe"?

You'd have to be absolutely mental.

So do what? What should have happened instead? Stop people from seeing their families again? Allow people one trip outside a day?

There are probably hundreds of thousands of people for whom the Christmas that has just passed, would have been their last anyway, regardless of Covid. How inhumane would it have been to deny these people the chance to see their families, AGAIN?

We are at a completely different point in this pandemic than we were pre-vaccination and booster programme.
Real world example. My father in law's 90+ year old mum got to spend Christmas Day with her family. The poor old dear was overwhelmed.

How many more has she got?

Its generally the personal freedom nutters who are most vocal being anti vax - both left and right (though 3:1 more on the right than left). That said, the UK's ethnic minorities are the ones who are the largest group not taken up the vaccine. Around 45% in some places.
By the way - I'm all for personal freedom but not the right to harm others with your actions.
Killing someone else with your stupidity is a not a freedom I recognise.
