got covid on saturday, well sunday the symptoms appeared , rough as fuck, did a home test and it showed i had caught it again, bit worse than last time,still feel rough today, im due in work tomorrow, my quandary is, go into work(i've phoned work and they said treat it as a cold,if you feel fit come in) however my morals say i shouldn't go into work because i don't want anyone else to catch it ,however i would lose my bonus(£450, plus 3 days wages and it would go against my sickness record,too much money to lose ,but i don't want some else to get it who might be affected more , what should i do

You would lose a bonus if you are off ill and doesn't your company pay you sickness pay at the very least.
 
Had tickets for Sparks gig at Albert Halls, postponed twice due to Covid.
Now it's finally taking place tomorrow, and I have caught the feckin thing.
Gutted I will miss it now.
 
England cases today fell below 30,000 on 29,335 - first sub 30 K since 1 March at the start of the second Omicron wave. Was 42,392 last week in England.

UK Testing today is 407 K V 531 K last Wedneday

There will be no data updates at all from Gov UK after tomorrow until Tuesday next week.

Todays death figures are artificially high as they add a backlog from yesterday caused from under reporting.

651 UK - 615 in England. But at least 200 of that number is from what should have been reported yesterday. Which was high anyway as Tuesday is always the biggest weekly number as registrations from acrss the weekend when registration s closed are added.

Liverpool hospitals alone added 15 today. Highest in the UK,

So do not be surprised if you see this number mentioned on the news and the context is not explained.
 
However there is VERY good news from England hospital data.

Patients have the biggest fall today in weeks.

Down 732 in the last 24 hours to 15,399.

This is V 16,587 last Wednesday - when numbers were UP by 35

This is a week to week FALL of 1188.

Last Wednesday there was a week to week RISE of 955

Every single region today falls by quite a bit.

NE & Yorkshire by the most (down by 190 to 2431)

North West falls 145 to 2293

Ventilated patients are also well down:- By 33 to 306 V 317 last Wednesday.

Every region has a significant fall - North Wesrt by 6 to 29 V 37 last Wednesday.


These numbers are surprisingly good but there is no note on the data to suggest they are suspect and usually when there is an anomaly it is in one region only not in all.

As I noted last week we were expecting there to be a noticeable fall this week in patients as it started last week and cases are clearly falling on all measures even with fewer tests.

So I have no reason to suspect this is not really good news and more important than the fall in cases.
 
Will post a summary today as there will be no data updates from almost everywhere now until Tuesday next week.

Things are still looking good.

Deaths appear to have just about peaked slightly below the level we had in the first Omicron variant wave in late January.

England Cases are still falling - both in the real cases and the Zoe app numbers. England on 27,283 - lowest since 1 March.

Hospital patients in England today fell again by 444 to drop below 15K on 14,955 V 16,600 last Thursday when it ROSE by 13 on the day.

Every region falls - North West by the most - 129 to 2164 V 2501 last Thursday.

Ventilators also fall back 7 under 300 on 299 for first time in over two weeks.

North West down on just 27 - second lowest region. Just one ahead of the South West.


Scotland numbers are falling too. Patients down 68 on 2042 V 2306 last Thursday. Ventilators down 3 to 20 V 27 last Thursday.


N,Ireland also doing much the same:-

Patients down 30 on 460 V 568 last week Ventilators on just 1 V 1 last week

Care Home outbreaks here are falling too on 120 outbreaks V 129 yesterday & 142 last Thursday.


The only blip is in Wales:

Patients here are rising and have been for a few days. On 1059 V 1005 last Thursday. Ventilators up 3 on 25 V 17 last Thursday.


At least some good news to take with you to Wembley.

Hi fellow blues. Yesterday I received my spring covid booster jab. This time it was the moderna vaccine. So thats 2 Astra zenica, a phitzer and now the moderna. The guy in the centre warned me that the side affects could be harsh but the level of protection it gave was worth it. So basically today I have flu like symptoms, aching joints, sore kidneys, a bit of a temperature a banging head and an overal feeling of being unwell. Early to bed tonight and i hope I feel a bit better tomorrow to watch the match and maybe have a beer.
 
An update, I did another test the evening before I went back to work and it was negative, still felt a bit rough but fine feel a lot better for taking the 2nd test, I didn't want to pass it on to someone who it could of affected more.

Waste of time, 3 people who were on shift have covid, one actually tested positive today, even showed me the pics of the results, he had phoned work and was asked "up to you if you come in, do you want to lose money

Seems like nobody gives a fuck about the virus at the moment
 
Mask wearing from Wednesday is no longer compulsory here (except in hospitals). First time in 2 years to be on a train/metro without a mask. Thankfully everything is pretty much back to something like normal now and tourists starting to arrive in fairly decent numbers. Certainly gives a different feel to the place. Long may it last!
