Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

No shit.
Both categories are low candidates to catch the virus, yet one fails because of the 2m rule, whereabouts shouldn't be an issue.

Why would some leagues decide it is unsafe and not restart
Whereabouts is an issue. Studies have shown that viral transmission takes place most readily indoors or in those places where respiratory droplets are slow to disperse.

You've also misunderstood the affect of Covid-19 on young people. The low risk for these age groups is not because they are 'low candidates to catch the virus'. They readily catch the virus because they have more social contacts than older people, but the point is that they don't tend to get a bad infection because their immune system can fight the infection off. That's not really relevant to why schools are struggling to re-open. That's an issue with space and the 2m 'rule' which clearly doesn't apply to the outdoors.

One thing I have learned during the course of this lockdown whilst out running, is the pointlessness of spitting. Its possible to run around and not spit. I sometimes wonder why Pep seems to do it so much.
your not working hard enough

When players, especially footballers run, the increased breathing rate causes the air mixed with dusts to enter their throat that can give a choking feeling thus compelling them to spit

I've missed something. When did the government drop the 2m safe space?

I run on farmland and with the exception of flies getting in my mouth I just don't feel the need to. I understand their reasons for it but the actual act can be controlled.

I was just reading that, they have to stand apart whilst the coin toss is going on them get stuck into each other for 95 mins,it is such a farce

I have been watching the Bundesliga and it is indeed a farce
Teams come out separately and stay apart until KO then it’s normal full contact footie and if anything a little more physical in the games I’ve seen and they seem to have dropped the no contact celebrations after a goal now which again was completely irrational anyway!!
