Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

I'm tired of the guestimates from every source available, what this has shown is that every reliable source is as unreliable as it gets.
It's based on tests - i.e. a sample of the population. Short of testing everyone it's about as good an estimate as you will get.

Who are they testing though? I don't know anyone who has been tested and probably a lot of people who have had it without syptoms. They spent 2 months figuring out how it spread, they are still figuring out if we should be wearing masks or indeed going to the shops again.

This isn't a pop at you bud, just the people who know they're right arguning with the other people who know they're right.

I'm currently writing my Master's Dissertation on the Premier League's Project Restart. Would be really appreciated if any fellow City fans could fill out my survey. Will only take 10 minutes. Thanks!

I've filled this in for you, I'd love it if you could share your dissertation down the line when you've written it. It would be really interesting to see the breakdown of answers you get from fans of all the various clubs.

Maybe @Ric could post the link somewhere a bit more prominent so that you get more responses.

Well these results are not model outcomes, and there's no interpretation to be made here. It's just a straightforward report of a survey of around 25,000 households who are regularly tested. The ONS just translates the results of test outcomes into a report for the English population, and the good news is that the number of infections in households is coming down steadily. From memory their estimate was 33,000 people in England had it as of a period ending the 7th June.

Although you are fed up with data overload this topic has in my opinion suffered because people aren't actually looking at what is going on in the epidemic, how the virus is transmitted and what the risks are for footballers. If you don't do that then you can't understand what is happening and what should be happening.
