Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

I've no crystal ball for sure, IMO, but I reckon there is a possibility that there may be no next season either given this is not a battle but a war against this killer virus. There are so many what if's to consider over the weeks and months and football is certainly not going to be the priority for many including myself.
Agree, Coronavirus has gone from something in a distant country that 'isn't going to affect me and the country very much' to something very real - the Arteta news bringing it home and Mendy self isolating. It will dwarf football for an indefinite period. Just my opinion.

So many just don't get this, and are assuming what China did has worked, it might have cut numbers, and while they celebrate that, how many will catch it once they "free" everyone ?

Its no going away in the next 3 or 4 weeks, and probably not 3 or 4 months either.

So are you saying people should be in lockdown forever to stop the spread of the virus?

It's totally uncharted territory. The virus might ease off over the summer and return with a vengeance in the winter as these things often do. The scientists will be working flat out to try and find something that is effective in fighting it we just have to wait. Isn't this the second serious virus to cone out of China in the last few years? Questions have to start being asked of them, I fear a lot is being hidden.
