Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

The Premier League, EFL and PFA agreed that difficult decisions will have to be taken in order to mitigate the economic impact of the current suspension of professional football in England and agreed to work together to arrive at shared solutions.

Interesting part of the statement just out.

So keeping with the April 30th idea for the league to return.

Well it is undrstandable that for some EFL clubs voiding he season will hit them hard financially, but after the FA cancelled the non league it will cause a lot of division and resentment if the top 4 leagues complete the season.
Add to that time frames, how does the non league season start again in august whan the prem and EFL may only just be finishing.

If the season does carry on behind closed doors it will be shite.

Further meetings are set to take place next week between the Premier League, EFL and PFA, with a view to formulating a joint plan to deal with the difficult circumstances facing the leagues, their clubs, players, staff and fans.

@PFA

Even if the games are played behind closed doors ,home fans fans will turn up en-mass to the grounds anyway and given that Liverpool win the title thousands will go to the ground on the last day of the season , I’m not sure the cops could stop it ,

A Brighton player has tested positive for coronavirus, the club's chief executive Paul Barber has confirmed.

Three unnamed members of Albion's squad underwent tests after showing symptoms of Covid-19, with one returning positive.
