Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

So when this virus scare is all over and football returns to normality does anyone think there will be changes to the football world ?
can see the likes of Sky and BT trying to bring the cost of the football packages down as they wont want to be exposed again to paying huge sums of money out for no product . Maybe the prem will try and take more control of the football coverage with a netflix style PPV who knows ?
Might never be the same again mate, heaven knows where sport goes from here.

Surely if Sky and BT tried to claim money back it would cause a domino effect? Wouldn't all the companies that paid for advertising space try to claim money back off of Sky and BT? And all the people who paid for subscriptions? And so on?
Well that would screw most Clubs, but I wonder which one would not be affected. Stick that up your arse UEFA.

I think the issue is that if, and it's a huge if, if we in this country are in a position to start playing again in June/July, there are a lot of countries behind us on this curve where it will still be raging. It only just seems to be properly starting to take off in South America about now. I cant imagine many of the Brazilian/Argentinian players being overly keen to play if thousands are dying in their homelands at that time.

Talking of var

The Premier League is happy with how VAR is working in its first season compared to the likes of Italy and Spain. The top flight acknowledges that allowing fans to hear conversations between referees on the pitch and VARs at Stockley Park would improve the process

Is that a recent quote? If so how odd of a newspaper to put that out in the middle of a pandemic. This quote alone shows how fuckin idiotic and how out of touch the media are with what's going on.

I remember it well.
It was our wedding anniversary and I was going to watch the game whilst the Mrs was making dinner.
Couldn’t believe what happened, or that they even considered playing the game
Think they were worried that a riot would ensue if game called off.
A colleague and I were coming back from a business meeting, turned car radio on to listen to game.
We were not surprised to hear there was trouble. It was commonplace wherever Scousers went. Plus ca change.
