Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

I can't believe the press are being so stupid.

Forget about hotels and getting changed separately.

The players just go in their own cars, get changed into their kit on the backseat and away they go. No need for social distancing, no self isolation, job done.

Can't believe the thickos in the press have been so numb.

If they are playing football that isn't going to be a deal breaker.
They’ll hardly be able to social distance in a football game either.
Either way it’s pretty academic, playing the league behind closed doors, isn’t ‘playing’ the league and certainly not with the integrity they keep bleating about

The only thing that surprises me is that some fans fall for it, quote it on here and hypothesise about it being in some way credible. Loads of half wit sports journalists trying desperately to be relevant. As someone pointed out earlier, all they have in their locker daft speculation about finishing the season by August or the “Bale to United, Mbappe to Liverpool” headlines. This when Liverpool wanted to furlough none playing staff. City have never overspent on players and there have been plenty of examples of us pulling out when the price got too rich. I wonder which club will either be in a position to and misjudge public opinion so much, they are prepared to spunk over £100 million on Jadon Sancho? When football does start again in 2021, what will the structure of football look like? How many clubs will survive? That’s where the real sports journalism is, but how many clicks will it get?

Anyway, I heard Gareth Bale was desperate to join United. He’ll join just after the season finishes in July. Click.

You get to see which players are the most needy for attention in a lockdown. Dele Ali must have posted 20 pointless selfies now, Ronaldo is the same and of course Pogba. Big ego’s that need constant publicity. When the teams get back together some of these ‘prima donas’ along with the likes of Grealish and good old Kyle might have to endure some serious stick.

You don't want to win the cup and think City had something still to play for in the league? Too much cider.

absolutely i do, but not at st georges park i don't, and whilst its unlikely i ain't giving up on the league, i'm not giving them nothing on a plate and i don't like cider
