Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

But City are losing when have City come out and taken on the press/media for printing shit and lies. I truly wish City would take the gloves off and fight. Like others we are spending thousands of pounds every season in a corrupt league with VAR being the latest weapon used against us. City seem happy just to put a brave face on and say or do nothing. Why keep spending thousands going when City arent doing much to stop this hatred towards our Club. From away fans all around us at home, half n half scarfs.
If City come out all guns firing I am back in a shot, if City just roll over and agree to finish this season behind closed doors etc after everything that has gone on this season, I will be watching on my laptop. Sad as that is.

I hope City are doing the right thing behind the scenes the trouble is we invest so much time, effort, money into City but we havent a clue what's going on. Us fans are kept in the dark

Patience,we have plenty of dirt to throw around, covid got in the way

If the contract finishes on the 1st june it finishes on the 1st june. Unless you have something written into the contract saying if the season isnt finished etc. But why would you ?

Wouldnt it be the case that loan players would be back at their home club to ?
But how do you sort out a new contract with a new club? How do you perform a medical? How do you discuss tactics? Position? Wages? How do incorporate the current uncertainties? It is a negotiation minefield and not worth bothering with until the current situation has a lot more clarity.

It could all be done over phone regarding Wages, tactics etc.....only problem would be the medical. Plus some clubs might be looking forward to the player going and not want him around lol

Just seen on bbcnews web site Danish football plans drive-in football. Games to be played behind close doors when games resume and big screens put up in the car parks so supporters can watch from their cars.

Why would you choose to pay a player £250,000 a week for an unknown and potentially long time with no games to play? Why would you pay £150 million for said player with no income and extreme uncertainties on future income? It is one thing to be tied to a contract and having to pay a player, but choosing to makes no sense.

And the scousers thought 30 years was a long time to wait for a title.
Ah yes. I did think an old technophobe fart like me shouldn't return to this forum game. Fingers can't keep up with brain. I do want football to return as a spectator sport in 18 months at the latest but would be more than happy if the Scousers had to wait over a century for their first Prem title!

The season isn't finishing via games being played in my opinion; no chance.

Whether they choose to give Liverpool the title is a separate matter and at that point I couldn't care less either way because they'd go down in history not for the most points won, goals scored, wins in a season etc but for being the only Champions to have been handed a trophy for shits and giggles.

One way or another they will be winning the league I think

Why would anyone bother?
