Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

there are millions of people still getting up each day to go to work. It’s a bit dramatic.

Might be a bit dramatic but could happen. I go to work 5 days aweek as does my son but we feel uneasy about it, as my missus is diabetic. If I didnt have to go to work I would stay in but my work is needed, is playing football needed ?

Why would any prem player ( £m aires) ,in their right mind, agree to play before social distancing is completely relaxed. I'm sure it's been said a million times, football is a contact sport so nobody should be expected to play until there is zero risk.

I’m one of the millions. Haven’t missed a day yet.

But I enter the building, go straight to my office and wipe my desk and keyboard down with disinfecting wipes, then wash my hands for the first of twenty times daily, see co-workers in the hall way wearing masks, have video conferences with the person in the office next to me and can’t wait to go home every night and breathe easy.

It’s a very fun routine.

One that really can’t be replicated for a footballer anytime soon.

Why can't you WFH?

They are talking about neutral training camps/stadiums to hold games in. How does that work for lower league teams?? Who’ll make no money.

also mention of 2 month training camps where they test the players every other day. Delusional ideas from each league right now

Thing is, people will be saving money on season tickets.
If you don't have SKY/BT then the only (legit) football you are currently getting is by attending. Some people will be quids in on the season ticket money saved.
Another point is families with more than one season ticket holder will be saving even more.
Clubs may even be allowed to sell their own (streamed) matches to previous season ticket holders (for a fee). I'm sure these type of things are being discussed.

Flexibility is going to be key. That means by everybody including clubs/supporters and the PL/Broadcasters.

If clubs sell streamed matches to only season ticket holders then millions of people will be missing out on football. One of the main reason to get football going again is to give people some enjoyment. Lots of city fans would miss out.
