Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

I can't believe any player is even contemplating being made to go training or play in this farce. You're Raheem Sterling in your early 20s world at your feet with the earning potential for another 10 years how on earth could you put yourself at risk of contracting this virus and putting your body at risk?? Players who have pregnant partners etc??

All being pushed by twats like Winter who are frightened to death of their gravytrain running dry!

Iceland population - 364k.
Uk population - 67m

Now I don't want to be picky but I think i can see a flaw.

But the usual journalistic bullshine can't accommodate simple flaws - admit a flaw in the equation and the story is bazooka-ed! I suspect that Iceland has pretty much social distancing 24hrs a day and 365 days a year, virus or no virus, and it would take three or four days to test the entire population using the Hancock system of 100k tests a day. But, come on, the papers have to be filled with a certain level of mind-numbing drivel.

I see that the usual shite from BBC is being pushed about PL returning. Banging on about Italy and German clubs restarting training and Gunners?
How the fcuk are they going to impose social distancing in a contact sport? People will just say fcuk it, if they don’t have to isolate themselves, why should I?
Virus returns, kills thousands more, public complain and moan, except the dippers.
The BBC are a bunch of cünts, they’re peddling this and it’s huge disrespect to those who’ve lost family members and friends. While hundreds continue to die from the virus, let’s think about getting PL up and running. You absolute wankers.
I also note that no article on the BBC sport website discussing such an important issue has a have your say option option! We all know why that is.

Find it odd an expert for over 40 years on viruses that testing for the virus is not 100% accurate because of the % of virus in the body they are testing! Also you can test a person who has the virus and it be negative because the level of the test the next day or 2 later be tested positive!

Once a camera crew start arriving outside a stadium. You can bet your bottom dollar than fans from that club will soon start arriving outside that ground. If and this is a big if, you want to play behind closed doors then play behind closed doors. That means no press no cameras from either SKY, BT. or the BBC. Behind closed doors means just that no one inside the ground, except the players and coaching staff.

We all know of course that you will have to show the games. The problem is stopping fans from turning up and causing a bigger problem then there needs to be. If the fans turn up there will be absolutely no social distancing at all . Should there then been another serious outbreak. the only ones to blame will be the likes of the broadcasting companies, and the press.

Should that happen then the government should impose a heavy fines on all of them. I would start with the BBC and say that from the end of 2020, the licence fee is abolished and you will have to stand on your own two feet. They will be the only ones to blame should we see another rise in death rates. With their constant carping about a return of football.

Life is a lot more precious then any game of football. I want to pose one question to all those who want to see the return of football. Your team wins a trophy, however you will not be around to see it being won , or you can carry on living. Which is it that you want. One or the other.

There’s only one team's idiotic clan that want it started again. They wear red and were responsible for English teams being banned from European football.
