Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

I have no idea , but have read somewhere that the rules state , if a season can't be finished the season is void. Don't know where to look for the rules but they must be out there somewhere.

I cannot see the FA accepting "behind closed doors" for their semis and FA finals
at Wembley
No. There would be no point playing a sf behind closed doors at Wembley. Might as well give home advantage, such as it would be, to whoever is drawn first. If the competition manages to get to a final, which I doubt, it would probably be played in august in place of the community shield.

A null and void season would mean no promotion which would be very unfair on the championship clubs. Clearly there is no ideal solution. When it comes to identifying the least worst option it could be that the mid table teams, unaffected by relegation or European qualification, would end up as “honest brokers”
Maybe mate, it's not fair to some, but it's the fairest for everyone, it's certainly not the only option although I don't like any of the 'I'm alright Jack' ones, start next season (hopefully) with everybody in the same position as they were at the start of this, but I think if we're serious about containing and working on the virus, it's certainly the most sensible in my eyes,

They may means they may not, so will be correct either way.

The EFL teams getting 1,500 will be a massive risk, absolute bollocks, more likely to shut motorway service stations than stop Macclesfield v Cheltenham.

The cafe outside Moss Rose is more of a threat than the stadium - probably sees more trade over a 12 month period.

I think it’s inevitable it will be played behind closed doors unless one of the clubs is quarantined.

I’m in block 105 and at cl games there are often alway fans in the supposedly neutral sponsors seats. Often kicks off if they celebrate a goal. Could see that being a much bigger issue next week if their fans were present
