'Teams allowed five subs per match; VAR can be dropped'

http://www.skysports.com/share/11985236

Well there you go. The amount of damage done by VAR not just to us but a whole host of other clubs and now they aren't going to do it anymore.

Why not?

Please don't tell me it's about social distancing as you can easily spread the four or five nobheads who are at operation Liverpool* win the league headquarters.

As if it didn't stink already.
Almost too much integrity there sure

In my view the club should only agree to finish the season behind closed doors if everything else is as before. This means all games should be played at the stadium where they were due to be played at, VAR in operation and the same number of permitted subs. Otherwise the club should vote against all other proposals.

OFFICIAL: - Temporary use of up to five substitutes - Three opportunities to make subs during game - excluding HT/ET - Extra sub allowed in extra-time - FIFA want to 'protect player welfare' - VAR can be dropped when/if games restart - competition to decide [
@skysports_bryan

Premier League clubs will discuss the new temporary law changes. There is currently no indication they will suspend VAR use in same season, as it would raise significant issues. [
@skysports_bryan

Can't players get infected if they are subbed then

Jeez

Var done its job this season , might as well give it chance to have an early break for the summer so it's fit and ready to go for the scum next season .

three opportunities to make subs? If a player gets injured do they have to wait for a designated time to sub him?!

The word integrity used here is as much a pr exercise as the words fair play in ffp. There are literally millions of sheep who cannot be arsed to read up on ffp,but are comforted by the fact that it is fair to all clubs,as that is what its title suggests( these same sheep are the ones who triumphantly declare that city broke fair play rules without even researching a word about it). Now if they award the dippers the title now it carries no merit even in the sheeps eyes as we mathematically could still win. If the season ended normally then the dippers would win(and deservedly so Im afraid),but that isnt gonna happen in that way now.So, they have to find a way to play enough games to get them over the line by hook or by crook, this way they can use the word integrity to mean the dippers cant be caught and there is integrity in awarding them the title. This will actually carry merit in the eyes of all those passive sheep and the pl etc know it, and they know how to manipulate the sheep with the help of a willing media.
As far as I am concerned, this season ended a while ago and has no value now,but with enough sheep baaaing for its completion, then they will get their way. Stay safe all........... P.S. sorry for the continual sheep metaphor, but thats how I see it.

I don't get this greedy thing. I had a look online and from what I could make out, last season all premier league clubs made just over £400 million between them. More than half of that was split between Arsenal and Liverpool. Now i don't know about this, put I would presume that 400 million was pre tax.

Now to put that into context, McDonalds made £337 million profit after tax, last year in the UK. No one is calling McDonalds greedy bastards. They will be open soon and everyone will flock back to them, even if it is just take aways and drive thru. Last year BnQ's and screwfixes, 6 monthly pre tax profits dropped to £255. Thats is more than double what any premier league made.

Now I don't want to see football back till it is safe. If that means next year, then so be it. But as far as the actual football clubs are concerned, I don't think they can be accused of being greedy. For a lot of them this pandemic is going to leave them very close to the bone in regards to staying afloat.

The media, the broadcasters and football authorities (FA,Premier League, PFA) are the ones who deserve all the ire. The football clubs themselves are just doing what every single sensible business in the country should be doing at the minute and thats looking to survive.

People talk about football clubs and riches. When you look at the figures in comparison to real businesses, the turn overs are negligible and the profit margins are pretty small. Yet everyone loves to give clubs and players shit all the time.

Can you remain socially distant while ordering a mcflurry. Yes. You can.

Can you remain socially distant while defending a corner. No. You can't.

Your argument is ridiculous

All the talk about sport returning to boost morale is mis-direction at best.

It is all about money with the betting industry leading the charge. What is horse racing about if not gambling? How much gambling is football related? Look at the amount of sponsorship of football and which level of clubs benefit and how much the exchequer receives in betting tax?

Little thought for the plight of many businesses that will go bust, including football clubs, so why make the Premier League an exceptional priority? It stinks.
You are quite right. I read a report that last year, for the 1st time ever, bookies took more money from betting on the premier league than horse racing. This included the Grand National
