Corrupt Officiating Within the English game

With so much corruption having gone on it sport, I think we'd be naive to think absolutely none happens in English football. When you look at what the players earn then what the referees earn, it doesn't take a genius to work out the referees are a much bigger target for corruption. Referees don't earn big money and can directly influence a game.
How video technology hasn't been introduced into football when it's in sports like rugby and tennis just amazes me. Tennis shows how easy and effective it is, they've got a brilliant system.
False serves, ball in or out and did it bounce twice; that's all they have to contend with.
No equivalent to handball (did it hit the hand and was it deliberate), fouls, and offside (was he offside when it was passed, was he seeking to gain an advantage, was he interfering, and was it the same phase of play). Football is a much more complex game.
Video evidence can show whether a ball hits a hand but can't show intent. Video evidence can sometimes show a foul and can also show when someone drags their leg to draw a foul but there's still an element of judgement. And for offsides it can certainly show if a player was off when the ball was passed but not the other criteria.
However; the penalties at Leicester, Everton and particularly at home v Everton were so nailed on that video evidence shouldn't be necessary in any event. The offside for Spuds equaliser wasn't even borderline and questions need to be asked of the officials. We're asking but are the Premier League and the referees assessors?
As for the Goater incident against Spuds fifteen seasons ago; wasn't it a white Spuds player who clashed with the keeper making it even more remarkable that the ref thought it was the Goat?

Dominic Cork suggested PL match fixing could be happening using the IAAC, FIFA and tennis issues as an example.to boiled bollock this morning. He was spluttering trying to deflect it, then said it's joke betting from the players!

How the Premier League table looks, using video referees

Just a question: Why does everyone on here seem to think that every single referee in the league is corrupt in favour of united?

We get no more decisions in our favour than any other team; if someone on here can post statistics that prove otherwise I would genuinely hold my hands up and say fair enough. Don't get me wrong though, I do admit that at times we get questionable decisions in our favour but reading posts in not just this thread but others, one would think that in every single match played in the history of United's club EVERY decision goes our way.

I think what it is is confirmation bias. Basically you guys are so hell-bent on this idea that united get all the decisions that you overlook ones that don't go our way.

I'm going to give an example: That ball that Roy Carroll fumbled against Tottenham which led to a goal that wasn't given- this incident is brought up time and time again and even years after, and used to prove that there is some sort of corruption in united's favour. However, in RVP's first season with us he scored a goal against (reading I think it was) which was similar to the tottenham against Roy Carroll and Rvp's goal that day was disallowed. No one remembers this.

This is a great point, it's like the Wythenshawe rag Taylor who claims to support Alty. You wonder if they are encouraged to state they support a lower league team so as not to ruin their chances of reffing at the top

He's got a mate on here who defends him quite often saying he is a Sunderland fan and not a rag.

He's definitely lied about Altrincham if that's the case because he's reffed Sunderland no end of times.

Bluebird (obv not Sue). She knows him from school apparently.

Have you got the rest of your life for all the evidence? Taggarts last season sticks in my mind as well as non penalty for Fulham in another title run in. Another season where Shrek got away with murder and was finally booked the last game of the season. When a ref made a decision against the rags they would then be sent to referee Morcombe or another shithole in league 2. Even the arsehole Poll wrote in his book you had to keep purple nose happy otherwise you didn't get another big game.

LVG has had a few decisions go his way too. Offside goals given in his first season at the swamp whilst Stoke and West Ham had legitimate ones chalked off for the very same reason. A&E allowed to assault anyone not wearing a rag shirt.

So many examples so little time....

Again, you've named all these things but equally I can provide as many examples of the opposite. Anyway, I asked for statistics not examples.

that mendes one was a pop shot/hit and hope from the halfway line that landed straight into carrol's chest which he muffed gathering in- you can totally understand the linesman not being up with play to be able to give it. spurs have had a few iffy penalties recently(rose leicester cup, alli norwich, rose sundland) - i've noticed they like dive too, we'll do well to keep 11 players on the pitch sunday the way they go about things.
