Corruption in English football?

Money changing hands ! Money being paid into Masters bank account by the Glazers. Brown envelopes being given to referees.
Not sure if you are being deliberately obtuse . The difference between corruption and bias is a long prison sentence.
It’s all there!
All you have to do is use Google. You’ll find that all get paid performance bonuses at the end of every season!

YES, PERFORMANCE BONUSES!

Sorry I had to shout. :-)

Hmmm...perhaps it's just me not being up to date BUT
Glazers handing money to Masters, brown envelopes to refs, extra pay for extra time...is there any evidence?
Certainly the red shirts and their cowardly allies try to put obstacles in our way and the Spiegel affair was orchestrated etc etc, but the allegations above are serious. Where's the smoking gun?

All who get paid performance bonuses? If you mean the referees, then what are the bonuses based upon? When I received performance related bonuses, they were based on me achieving a set of pre-determined and agreed targets. I would expect it to be the same for referees.

Here are two sets of possible referee objectives:

Set A.
1. Less than 10% absence during the playing season due to injury.
2. Achieve monthly fitness targets.
3. Achieve upper quartile in match performance assessment grades.
4. Deliver LOTG training to at least ten professional football academies.
5. Show thorough knowledge of the LOTG and achieve 90% or higher in all refresher examinations.

Set B.
1. Positively influence games that will contribute to PL key objectives of rotating PL winners.
2. Positively influence games to ensure multiple winners of trophies during the season.
3. Issue cautions and dismissals that are likely to impact PL objectives.
4. Achieve an average of 50% or higher in referee assessment grades.
5. Manage games to ensure a maximum of one dismissal per game.

Could any of the objectives in either set be used to performance test a referee over a season? I doubt if any in set B will ever be used.

Bonuses doesn't necessarily mean corruption.

The rags and dippers have the most armchair fans, and those fans are more likely to subscribe to the various broadcasters when the rags or dippers are doing well.
More money received by the broadcasters means more money can be paid to the PL, PL clubs and associated groups such as PiGMOL. It doesn't have to be direct payments to match day officials. Or their guide dogs.

Scudamore's 'strategic plan' remark tells you everything you need to know...

If you want to see how refs and var referee City differently watch the Holgate red card for Everton v Spuds today and study it next to the Ronaldo challenge on Kev yesterday. The ball was in play Holgate kicked it clear and followed through on the spuds player. Ref gives a yellow, Moss on var tells ref to go to monitor, yellow changed to red. Serious foul play? Yesterday the ball was in touch after jug ears fouled Kev and ronaldo came in late studs up, out of control and comes into contact with Kev. Yellow shown. Nothing from var even though, in my opinion, Ronaldo knew what he was doing. And listening to pundits after they all said Holgate had to go compared to yesterday when it was not discussed in any depth. Refs var and media are all in this seperate set of laws for City. Bent as a 9 bob note.
PS. Maybe pygmol will review it on Monday.

Who ever was on Var for our game never let Oliver know that that tackle was a shocker and we know why it be a jealous rag scouser Arsenal spurs or Chelsea supporter in that var box plus pep is so nice he wouldn’t bring it up! Even the commentators don’t say a word and we know if that was one of our players making that tackle it looked at!

As bad as that petulant bit of cuntery from Ronaldo was, I’m simply not going to get over that no yellow to Milner. There have been plenty of awful calls but I’m never forgetting that one. Either cowardice, incompetence or corruption on an epic scale. Paul Tierney should never referee in this league again. Period.
