The competition is oh so obviously bent when certain teams are refereed to a different set of standards. It simply isn't a fair competition.

The solution is to have them mic'd up. Cannot hide behind it then.

That would help, however they would still back each other, the difference is you would hear it. For instance the offside derby goal would go something like “he’s in an offside position ref, do you think he was interfering with play?”; “yes, I do”; “ok ref, it’s your call”.
