Corruption in English football?

You’d think something of this importance, especially with the amount of gambling opportunities within a game (corners, penalties, goals) would be breaking news on every network.
This is a big story in the scheme of things. It's incredible if true and it must be symptomatic of a culture within the VAR set-up. The idea that someone whose previous job was data analysis for PGMOL and before that at Watford FC should make a key decision in a PL match is unbelievable. I mean who is Adam Carter (as a Match Commander) accountable to ? How can Mike Riley survive in his job?

Well hopefully Riley would be heading for the firing squad but the bastard has survived many occasions when PiGMOL and the " questionable " decisions involving their lackies have occurred before.

If the story has substance then the whole corrupt set-up should be investigated, those responsible charged with corruption and removed from off , but I will not be holding my breath as these stories have a strange way of being buried deep and out of public scrutiny.

The broadcasters seem to be complicit in the process. There was a huge difference between the match day commentators who seemed keen to conceal what had happened with the Foden decision and Graeme Souness who seemed to be off message when he called it out. What the hell is going on with our game? Some of the decisions have been obviously corrupt but the question is: "Who is gaining from it?" Certainly the broadcasters are heavily involved commercially with the betting industry.

There are far too many instances of apparent collusion for it to be coincidental.

As we have seen in the past with fouls that were missed by match officials (prior to VAR) being shown on a loop on SSN, BBC, BT and headlines on the various football websites, the media have the power to influence the PL/FA (Aguero on Winston Reid).

The media also chose to ignore fouls when it suits them (Various Maguire foul, and many other Rad/Dipper fouls).

Individuals in decision making position can be biased, and by so may effect the outcome of a game, that I'm sure of. It's unprofessional.

But a larger group of organized individuals deliberately trying to steer results in a preferred direction seems unlikely. I mean, that would have to involve so many person, over such a long period, and I find it impossible to believe it wouldn't have been exposed, or that some whistle blower brought this to medial attention. Why wouldn't that happen? Out of fear? Fear of what, or whom?

Who would be the person in charge of this systematized corruption? And what would be the gain? The obvious (and likely) only answer would be money, right? Someone makes money on it.
So who?
Usually, it’s very shady people connected to very large and dangerous organised crime syndicates. And when it comes to football, we’re not talking about small fry like that MTK bloke from Ireland; you’re talking about serious organisations like the Bratva.

Begs the question why the referee at Stockley didn't turn round and say "what the fuck has it got to do with you?".

Fucking disgraceful if true.
That's the second time Mark Halsey has blown the whistle. Why would he lie about it? It will make it harder for him to get work in the football or media industry. His revelation that Mike Riley had previously pressurised referees to fabricate their match reports before disciplinary hearings was airbrushed out of history.

There is little doubt ( in my mind ) that the clubs who have derived the most benefit from the dubious decisions are the rags and dippers. The media do not want to rock the boat and risk losing the money which accompanies their support of the two clubs.

Not even subtle with the decisions , and the two clubs with the largest followings have undoubtedly benefitted from the introduction of VAR .

Numbers of " dubious " penalties awarded to the rags is over the last two seasons to ensure a top 4 place and thus EC qualification which was unlikely without them.

Dippers have had so many doubious calls to assist Mane and Salah too.

The way these two have benefitted has imo contributed to the number of players in general who dive in order to gain fouls/ penalties , and VAR and PiGMOL have obliged .

Nothing to see here....Just allegations of protecting the "product".

I don't want to link *** *** article because I don't want to give them cunts any revenue.
