These red cards would have affected their following games too. Against Villareal they got given an offside goal to make it easier in the away game. Same against Everton. Same against Newcastle. Occasional " mistakes " would be understandable but it's most games with them and almost always in their favour. These " mistakes " only happen occasionally against them in a 38 game league to give them something to point at and argue decisions "even out ". These " mistakes " don't cost them in cup competitions though. LiVARpool supporters keep pointing to the accidental "handball" against Everton. This is the same team that scored against Wolves a few seasons ago with a handball on the halfway line, for another handball in the box ,to set up a goal, while Wolves had a goal ruled out for " offside " another three point swing. They also had two handball incidents in the box, one set up a goal, their was a third penalty waved away for City for a shove in the back on City player, all in the same game that season. Where was the official apology for Wolves or City. Once again it's a distraction so they can have something to point at, one decision for City in contrast to numerous decisions in LiVARpool's favour that has kept them in contention for the league and F.A Cup and handed them the Caraboa Cup. Like their red counterparts, they like to talk about " history " it would be interesting to look back at " history " and see all the decisions that led to their " glory ". LiVARpool's last few cup and title runs have been very similar to United's last " success" in the F.A Cup, with one debatable decision after another. LiVARpool needed to beat Napoli in the Champions League qualifying group, should have had a player sent off and Napoli had a goal disallowed. In the final after City were put out against Spurs, with a handball, given because the one conclusive frame showing the handball wasn't shown to the referee. Even after that City got another winning goal that was ruled out for a debatable "offside." Spurs went to the final instead and in the first few minutes, rather than make a simple pass to a team mate, the LiVARpool player kicked the ball straight at the Spurs players armpit and got a penalty. There were similar decisions leading to LiVARpool " winning " the league as their have been this season to keep them on course for the "Quad". Without all these decisions their season would have been over before it began.

Agree whole heartedly. I urge you to re watch the famous ac Milan cup final. What were the best team in the world thinking that 2nd half against some English cloggers. Not to mention the penalty shoot out where the keeper dives before the shots are taken. Jeez!

Taylor did indeed recomend to the government that stadiums be made all seater. This was what the FA had been lobbying for (mainly because they had their best mate and ex FA wanker now running a company that made seats for football grounds.
Did you read my earlier bit Mr Owl. The first contract they got was putting seats in your ground. How co-incidental is that !

It will all come out some day. Sometimes it's down to nerves or " mistakes ", when it happens too often though, that's when alarm bells should start to ring. It happens with the " two cheeks of the same arse" much too often.

On the official website it uses. the word 'roster' for 'squad'. Perhaps it's aimed for foreign fans.
But when did the fixture list become the 'fixtures calendar' - as it has been for at least two seasons here on Blue Moon. 'Jerseys' are creeping in for shirts but will we even sink to the level of 'full uniform wankers'?

Is that right? Strangley we've had FOUR awarded in recent seasons , with two being at anfield. Unfortunately we missed three of them . 18/19 (a) Mahrez miss 0-0 , 19/20(h) KdB scored 4-0 , 20/21(h) KdB miss 1-1 , 20/21 (a) Gundo miss 4-1, I do think they have also had a fair few given to them when playing us in the same time period

No it’s not right… it’s seems I assumed at home. They did go 46 games in total without conceding a penalty including all home leagues games last season.
 
Martin Samuel in the Mail has done yet another excellent article. He states that it is obvious that the fixtures are not randomly generated by a computer, they are in fact manipulated to suit bt and sky. After all who would want to see City playing the dippers on the final Sunday of the season. What he states is that it is engineered so that the big 6 are not playing each other on the same weekend.
He then asks how Bournemouth ended up with City, Liverpool and Arsenal within the first 4 matches. He does not openly state it is corrupt but mentions the fact that no on really cares if Bournemouth go down so.....
I found it very interesting. If we accept the fixtures are manipulated, then surely we accept they are or at least can be, manipulated to favour a couple of teams. (Cough)
 
I’m not sure if it’s ever been officially recognised but I think it’s always been a given by most people that the TV companies have an input hasn’t it?

I don’t think anybody has ever claimed it’s totally random either have they? Long before Sky TV existed, City would always play Liverpool or Everton on Boxing Day and United would play the other one. That clearly wasn’t random. We also seemed more often than not to play United in September and then again round about March I think. Again, clearly not random.

One thing that does interest me is why would Sky not want City V Liverpool as the last game? I would have thought they would absolutely want that, hoping it would be a shoot out for the title?

They don't want a City Liverpool shoot out because it affects advertising revenue. 2 different games 2 different channels.

City v Everton on Boxing Day when travel was difficult was simply being sensible. Allowing the Premier League and Sky to choose when teams play each other for monetary reasons is wrong and can be corrupted.

I’ve always been under the impression that fixtures are fixed to a certain extent. They look at all sorts of things to manipulate them but not in a way that should concern anyone.

For example, if the computer threw up all 7 London clubs against non-London clubs at home on the same weekend, they’d change that as the Police wouldn’t want that to happen.

And there’ll be other things that clubs across the league will all agree to when it comes to fixturing.

We’ve arguably had the easiest start to the season of anyone really and I don’t think anyone on here would suggest it’s City who are favoured.

Liverpool have played United away and Everton away (not exactly City and Spurs away but it’s still their two derbies where anything can happen) in their first half a dozen games.

United played Liverpool third game in and play Arsenal tomorrow.

Chelsea v Spurs popped up third game in.

City have played two newly promoted teams, two bottom half teams from last season and West Ham who were the highest placed team from last season we’ve faced so far and they only finished 7th… with no games against a derby rival of any kind… later on we’ve got another bottom half team from last season.

And even in a few weeks when we play Liverpool and Arsenal away in the same week - Phil Foden said of that week we had last season where we played Chelsea Paris and Liverpool away, it was that week that raised our standards and is probably the reason we won the league because we won 15 of our next 17 games off the back of it - those sort of weeks can actually be beneficial.

Are Bournemouth now not in a position where they’re not even in the bottom three and have got three really tough fixtures out of the way and can now concentrate on games where they’re more likely to pick up points?

If you look hard enough, you can attach all sorts of conspiracies to something as big as a 380 match fixture list.

Don’t really follow that logic. But I’ve no knowledge on the subject I suppose.

I would have thought if you’re selling adverts on the promise that they’ll have, I dunno, say 10 million viewers over the three games they normally show, why would they care if the split is roughly 33%/ 33%/33% or 90%/5%/5%? If anything I would have thought a shootout would draw in extra viewers who wouldn’t normally be that bothered about football.
