Cost of living crisis - how are you all doing?

Went out last Saturday day/night you wouldn’t think there was a cost of living crisis, it was fucking heaving and it ain’t cheap to drink or eat.

Vast majority it was probably a rare treat. Seems busy because population is rife and there is less establishments.

Said this to the missus too. In fairness it’s been like this ever since the gradual decline of Covid.

Especially Friday & Saturday nights loads of people are out & about eating & drinking even though prices have shot up. Has everyone else got a pay rise & I haven’t or most likely scenario it’s all been paid on credit.

Was in Manchester on Saturday and it was battered, I got the train home at 6:30 and you couldn't move in the station.

Bought a Dreamland Elecrtic throw, £50. Going to wrap myself up in that whilst watching the TV in the coming Winter months whilst the central heating is off. Already using the electric blanket on my bed. Pence instead of pounds.

Struggling at the moment. Split up with my wife in February and I’m currently paying rent + bills and also continuing to pay my share of the mortgage and money towards my kids so that they still have a roof over their heads and food on the table.

Sorry to hear about your issues mate hopefully things get better for you next year.

What a coincidence everyone goes out for their rare treat exact same time as I go for mine. And every time I just go out for a basic walk too.

Cities in general seem to become more affluent whilst towns decline. In my home village, we’ve gone from three pubs to one etc. Now in Prenton it’s dead whilst Liverpool is usually busy.

I’d argue lots of people flock to Manchester as everything is there. Shows to sport pretty much every weekend.
