Costel Pantilimon

I think his distribution is better than Hart's, especially some of his quick throw outs. Joe seems to hold onto the ball for too long in my opinion.
However, he flapped at a couple of things yesterday and if Joe had done the same he'd have been slated and told to concentrate on practicing his catching not doing adverts. I just hope Costel hasn't got a pantene ad lined up or he's going to get slagged off big time.

I thought he "flapped" just once yesterday, on a corner late on and he may have been fouled on that one: he made out that he was.

The Lennon cross in the first half wasn't a flap but he possibly should have dealt with it a bit better. Not sure if Demichelis put him off.

There was another corner that he punched but only to a Spurs player on edge of box; however, it was not a flap: he had to stretch for it a was well extended so couldn't get much power. Perhaps should have gone with one hand rather than two on that. Not a flap, though.

He's done fine so far; although I do not buy into the idea that he is much better than Hart on distribution and, overall, he is not as able as Joe. Whether Joe should come back yet is a question for Pellers and the coaching staff who deal with Joe on a daily basis.

He hasn't exactly been really tested yet so difficult to say whether he is good or not, i dont think i would be happy for him to be in v Arsenal,up against Giourd and Ramsey would be a risk for me
If Joe has got his act together then i would have him back for that match

Just glad i dont have to make the decision

Apologies if there's already a thread on him but I can't see one in the first few pages of the forum. Just think he deserves his own thread. I think so far he's acquitted himself very well. There's a hell of a lot of pressure and a lot of eyes on him because of the fact he's taken Joe's place. He seems calm and unflappable and on performances so far deserves to keep his place as first choice keeper.

He has done well to be fair but he is not a fitst choice top 4 keeper

Hart is better

Joes back in the nets on Wednesday,so lets see how it pans out for him.

Hopefully we'll see very little. I'm not expecting to read "Hart 8/10" on Thursday.

His quick distribution is really excellent, could win us a lot of points over the next few years.

Flapped at a couple of corners, and didn't inspire confidence with the commanding of his area. In spite of his height, he doesn't have much of a physical presence.

But he's much more cool and composed than Joe. His distribution is light years ahead of Joe's, has the confidence to play it short from the back, and made a very good save from Adebayor.

That said, if Joe doesn't return to his usual self, then neither are good enough long term. Should that happen then I'd like to see us go for a top draw keeper in the summer.

We can't afford to mess about in a key position, no room for sentimentality either. If Joe doesn't get his act together, we should bring in a new keeper.

His distribution yesterday was overall pretty good. His quick, long throw outs to a fulback or wide players are much, much better than Joe's.
He really hasn't been tested yet to be fair but so far it has to be said he's done more than a decent job IMO.

I don't think he's has a real test yet. We've hardly been under the cosh in the last 2 games and i think i'd have done alright in nets for them. He had a couple of little flaps but nothing negative came from them.
So far he's done alright and MP has no reason to drop him.
