No, Sporting have got a buy option that they will trigger on him. We will probably negotiate a buy back option with Sporting but it remains unlikely. If City saw him as a long term replacement for Walker, he would’ve remained with the squad and trained with us.

any Walker (super ironic name, btw) replacement has to be fast as fuck. that lads speed has got us out of many a pickle. our high line demands a speed merchant patrolling the back line on counter attacks. just need speed to make our system work in mopping up long balls over the top on counters.

I think he has the best chance into the squad.

Finding a fast replacement for Walker seems unlikely.

Instead I would say Porro is fast and strong enough, that his passing on top of that makes it worth bringing him in, plus, his cost to buy him back if Sporting to buy him is only 10m, basically nothing.

He is likely going to be Spain's RB for the future, I don't see us passing up on him unless it's in some deal for another Sporting player.
