Could Yaya be under threat??

Not under threat, no. Just think it gives us the chance to rest/rotate him more against some of the teams lower down the table and keep him fresh. He looked knackered at times this season.

I've always been under the impression that Yaya always play unless he's injured .... because that's what it says in his contract ... According to something I read on here once !!!!

Let's hope so, the guy needs a kick up the arse.

Can't disagree with that. Serious competition for places in all positions can only be healthy.
Agree that competition is the key.....even for the top players.

Can anyone remember a game when he was fit but rested or simply not picked? I can't.
If that's in his contract it was foolish on the club's part. Can only think it was Brian Marwood wot done it

He has just signed a new one though, I can't see us keeping the clause in for a new 5 year deal.

Hopefully, every player should earn a starting place not expect one because that strategy doesn't inspire team spirit or player confidence.

Just imagine playing out of your skin in a match and training yourself to within an inch of your life, just to be told the star player starts ahead of you on reputation alone.

Competition for place is good for Manchester City.
