Could you go a month without alchohol?

Had a terrible experience on Saturday. Got picked up by a mate who had brought with him a bottle of absolut. Normally I can drink loads and still just about function but this time I drank way way too fast and don’t remember much of that day.

Fell down the steps at the etihad and slept through the whole game. Don’t remember even being at the ground! Sick all over the car, took a piss on a busy road and woke up with a massive lump on my head. I’m taking a break after that!

What time are you up In the morning? Do you not sleep? Why not start going Sunday at say 10 until Wednesday night with no alcohol? I have gone dry since Friday and found it hard. I think I have had at least one pint every day for a few years. Cannot wait to have a pint or two Saturday afternoon.
Following this, this week I've started a month long 'campaign' of abstinence from a Sunday to Thursday. Whilst I lasted three weeks completely without booze In August, my efforts to reduce my intake must be fought on several fronts if I'm going to succeed. Baby steps etc...

Glad to be of help.

I like Sunday nights out. It winds down the weekend nicely. We have juke box, pool and then karaoke. As long as I’ve ironed and stuff then I reward myself with beer.

I’m 38. Tend to give the wet t-shirts a damn good shake and then all they need is a quick once over to get them smooth.

Was plastered last Saturday. Started at tea time for City and did a solo pub crawl up the Barking Road. Have no recollection of getting home.

Good man.

Nope. I like a couple of cans when I get home after work but it’s rare I get pissed these days. Only time really is at gigs.

Alcohol is essentially a poison. If it was discovered tomorrow it would be banned within the week.

I personally think it was a terrific find. I probably drink 5 days out of the 7. Only a pint or two on most occasions because I'm generally driving.

Wife has me down as an Alcoholic.

I call bullshit.

Since lockdown and the birth of my first child, have drank less than I ever did for about 20 years. Home boozing never really done it for me but I love pubs and drinking at football.

The beer gardens have opened up and have met a few friends. But I have gone right off drink, feel awful after 2/3 pints and not the night after, like straight away.

Think I may give it up. Anyone feeling the same?

Can the rest of us call you 'generally' a drunk driver then?

Nope. To be fair I've no reason not to drink. I enjoy my whisky and unless I'm told to for medical reasons I can't see any other reason to stop. Just me though and fair play to those who don't drink.
