To be honest halfmist, I do agree with you. There is quite a responsibility to look after people who have been through the most traumatic experience and it should be very carefully thought through before offering. There are practicalities as simple as how does it affect the house insurance if someone injures themselves or for example the dog attacks them, or if something expensive gets broken, will you still be covered? What about if you need to go away for work or to look after a relative and you need to leave them on their own, would you be comfortable with it. It's not just about if you have space but also if you can be around enough for them whilst honouring your other commitments. We think we'd struggle so have just committed to making donations to DEC when we can.
