Coverage on Radio Manchester

My old man went to a supporters meeting a few weeks back and Ian Cheeseman & Fred Eyre (I think) were the guests. Long story short he said there were some funding issues and that the show would be affected (as in no longer broadcast or will have to find separate funding).

I hope this isn't the case. Has anyone else heard something similar?

Maybe they're having to broaden the content for these reasons?

Cheeseman...You're listening to gmr 95.1 or on dab..I bloody know that already, being as I tuned the radio onto it... I don't need to know what bloody frequency I'm listening to! Or that mike sweeneys on at breakfast time told to me every five minutes during the match
This winds me up more than anything
Rant over
Blimey is Sweeney still on the radio?

Have no problem with Cheesey, Lakey, The Goat or Fred Eyre its the way the City related programming seems to being steered, just feel that we are getting less of a service than previously

Dipped in a couple of times over the last season or so when Rugby Union is on the national stations and it was amateur at best, seems to want to appeal to the people who spark when they walk and kids. Not for me.

used to love listening to Piccadilly as a kid, remember the 'its a gooooal' and 'oh nooo' jingles during the games. City commentator was Brian Clark, he was brilliant imho.

All I can say to that is " Ohhh nooooo..." ! Clarkey, nice guy but a bloody useless commentator. Always got things wrong and constantly coming up with daft terms or getting names wrong, e.g. Kinkladze was always " the little genius", Niall Quinn was "the big Irishman" or Gerry Taggart was " Gerry Tagg Art ", the Rumbelows cup was the "Rumbellows cup ". Most annoying. However, James H Reeve an utter legend !

What's James H Reeve doing these days?

GMR will always be my first choice, purely because it really is City biased. They do seem to be giving more air time to the local sides in the lower leagues this season I agree, but, the one positive I have always heard from supporters of those clubs, is that City fans are more knowledgable and care about local teams more than the rag twats. So rather than question the supposed policy let's support it.

Ian Cheeseman is a really nice bloke and a top blue too. Fred Eyre? I defy anyone to argue that he is the composite archetypal City fan - we all know someone just like him. ( I just look in the mirror!)

The Goat is loved by us all and he just seems to come across these days as one of us - we say "we were here when we were shite" He could say "I tried to stop us being shite"

The option is listen to talkshite and it's superstar the lovable dogging woman beater collymore - I have the misfortune to have to work with a right bigoted bully who holds him up as a role model and quotes him ad verbatim every Monday morning, even to the point that he agreed with him slagging off Delph at villa cos he's a villa fan!

Be careful what you wish for GMR is the only public platform that is pro City thanks to Messrs Wagg, Cheeseman, Lake & Goater

No problems with GMR except it's exclusion of The TuneIn App for my Phone, Blocks me from listening to Blue Tuesday :/
No access to analogue radio so I suggest they start allowing the TuneIn app.

City should employ Cheesy, would prefer him doing the commentaries for the match highlights online and so on.
