Yes but before they were testing a wider group, so we'd expect the numbers of reported infections to be falling, even when it isn't.

They've been only testing hospital admittance for a while, the numbers won't start going down until the peak of the pandemic because there's no way we are at R<1 with this semi-shut down.

If they manage to start testing hospital workers there should be a massive spike in cases.

Pretty much , the case though using those figures as an indicator ten todays increase of 825 compared to yeterdays 8450 using the same formula is either a blip or a sign measures are having an impact quicker than inother countries. Guess we'll see over the next few days.
Yep.

I wonder if we're actually using the malaria and HIV medication that early trials seem to be suggesting are effecting against the virus. Trump is going on about it now but the Australians and French (amongst others) have also been doing testing with those drugs that looks promising. Not sure where they are manufactured or what supplies of them with have in the UK but if the results continue to look good, every country will be after them.

FDA have just announced it has not approved old malaria drugs for usage in this case. Trump is jumping the gun in his desire to give ‘good news’. Happens every day. Trump burbles some shite he half understands and everyone else cleans up behind him.

= This virus isn’t very good

Could you explain this for those of us who are mathematically thick as pig shit?

Mrs KS bought the entire stock of formula available in ASDA yesterday.........one tin!

That's called sticking together and looking out for each other. Not.

All these people bulk buying stuff (for themselves) in supermarkets really does show them for what they really are - selfish twats!

Watch them try and take a load of stuff back for a refund if they end up not using 3,000 toilet rolls and 100 tins of beans. I hope the supermarkets tell them to do one.

The Queen on coronavirus outbreak: "We are entering a period of great concern and uncertainty.

Prince Philip was helicoptered from Wood Farm in Sandringham to Windsor Castle earlier today to join the Queen.

The couple will spend the next few weeks social distancing at the castle and are expected to remain until after Easter.

The Food and Drug Administration in the US wants to carry out a clinical trial of a malaria drug to test whether it is effective in fighting coronavirus

The head of the food and drug administration in the US says in the short-term the agency is looking at drugs in the coronavirus fight that are already approved for other uses.

Trump says the US will be able to make anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine available almost immediately to help fight coronavirus

10% of tests are positive for coronavirus in US

Nadine Dorries says she has lost her sense of taste and smell
The health minister, who confirmed last week that she had contracted the virus, said it was "so weird" to have "absolutely zero" sense of taste or smell

We can't say' if virus will mutate around a vaccine

Prof Whitty continues being open about what scientists don't know, addressing some speculation he's seen on social media.

First on if the virus will mutate and become more dangerous. He says there's a "general tendency" that when viruses do mutate "actually they tend to become less virulent over time".

And second on will COVID-19 mutate to evolve around a potential vaccine? "We honestly can't say," Prof Whitty says.

I hope all the stuff they have hoarded goes out of date or perishes before they get a chance to use it. Plus a power cut and all the huge chest freezers defrost.

The stores have been culpable in all this and should have reacted sooner.
