712 deaths in Italy. Up in infection numbers as well. Just seen the uk figures :( not even the results from today either

awful day for the world tbh

712 still fits with numbers stabilising surely.

Strange this. I did wonder yesterday about it. I don't mean that the govt are fudging numbers but the days/hours/times etc are important. Either most countries will be doing it like this or, if say Italy for example, their numbers are more current it would mean the UK is effectively a day closer than previously thought.

Yesterday was the changeover day and today the figure is for more than 24 hours plus some deaths that weren’t included yesterday.

Over the two days there doesn’t seem to be any dramatic upwards spike and from tomorrow we will see 24 hour figures again. It still looks positive that we aren’t spiralling upwards like Italy did.

Sat 793 (highest so far)
Sun 651
Mon 601
Tues 743
Weds 683
Today 712

It's sad they haven't decreased further since Monday but hopefully that 793 will be the highest when all is said and done.

The number of deaths is related to the number of current cases so the key figure is the number of new infections. They are continuing to fall so the number of deaths will also fall but slightly later.

Don't forget that there are many deaths in the community where coronavirus isn't known at the time of death. They are then tested but the results take several days. These deaths won't feature in the daily death numbers and there will be lots of these. Very sad that we are past 100 in a day, but that will grow and grow and grow over the coming weeks. Travelling home from work a short time ago and there were far too many people out and about. Some people still not taking this seriously. Just look at some of the Derbyshire Police footage, groups up on the snake pass with picnics and shisha pipes out as if it was an ordinary spring day. Crazy.

What do we want? Road blocks.

No mate, this was a 24hr period from 5pm Tues-5pm Weds. Yesterday's result were only from 9am Tues- 5pm Tues.
