The best thing I've seen was a doctor in scrubs saying there is no cure or vaccine, if you get it all we can do is try and help your body fight it and recover, but not everyone will. That needs to be rolled out more, not Boris saying wash your hands.

No it hasn’t been said a certain age group won’t be treated, hence some very old survivors released from hospital. What was said was if we allow the nhs to be overwhelmed and run out of ventilators those decisions may need to be made , not just on age,. We are not at that point yet and hopefully we wont’t be.

Who was that mp this week who said it and about DNR I know a surgery who sent it out to people,

Well the herd immunity approach we openly started with did hang the old and vulnerable out to dry some what, protecting them came much later on,the facts are they would have done several models with different outcomes and had to choose, hard choices are made every day in the nhs in normal times let alone now
My understanding of herd immunity was that the elderly and vulnerable would be shielded whilst the healthy and young who mostly have mild or no symptoms get the virus and recover. The idea being that the herd acquires immunity thus killing off the virus and ultimately protecting the most vulnerable. Or have I got that wrong?

No think that's it

Is the lockdown likely to be extended? Trying to think positively but I just can't see the lockdown ending a week on Monday

End of May is what keeps getting mentioned, if people follow instruction.

That is what my workplace is also expceting as a return date, the start of June

It was a doctor the surgery withdrew it immediately and the doctor criticised , it was never anyones policy. No hospital is refusing treatment to anyone that they think can be saved, to say they are is an insult to all the medical professionals doing their very best. As long as they have the equipment they will use it. Do you honestly think there is a doctor in this country that will have an empty bed with a ventilator when an elderly patient comes in and say nah too old lets not bother trying.

Will be extended , my guess would be early this week, they won’t want people thinking it finishes next weekend and starting to make plans. Probably another 3 weeks, then reviewed again.

Herd immunity was getting 60% of the population infected and recovered, that is why the plan didnt involve stopping mass gatherings,it was football getting infected and shutting down of its own accord that forced their hand, the medics even said you cant catch it at a football game without mentioning the whole travelling, pubs etc,it was stupid that imo and experience, there was no locking down of the vulnerable groups till a couple of weeks ago, that says to me it was survival of the fittest which was the initial plan
