Boris's watch has stopped again. Or maybe he is operated by the same software as the web site and his numbers are delayed too.

I see the U.K. statistics authority have had a few things to say today. Not sure who it could be about though......

In the context of the pandemic there are three things which governments should consistently do to support transparency:

  • where data are used publicly, the sources of these data or the data themselves should be published alongside any press briefing and associated slides to allow people to understand their strengths and limitations
  • where models are referred to publicly, particularly to inform significant policy decisions, the model outputs, methodologies and key assumptions should be published at the same time
  • where key decisions are justified by reference to statistics or management information, the underlying data should be made available
When data and associated information are made available it should be done in an orderly way, and in a way that is equally accessible to all.

It is clear that those working on the pandemic face significant pressures. But full transparency is vital to public understanding and public confidence in statistics and those who use them.

The woman was not legally entitled to remove her mother because her mother is not of sound mind and the daughter does not have power of attorney so her mother is a ward of the state.

If she had got power of attorney she could have taken her mum home.
Too late now of course to get power of attorney.

Have you set up power of attorney?
I have.
I am the youngest , difficult to know who to chose

Italy 34, 505 cases and 445 deaths yesterday.

This is not just us.
Yep. Horrible numbers all over the continent and beyond. 367 deaths reported in Poland today. Their population is about 60% of ours.

However, by far the worst is Belgium again - 205 deaths despite have less than a fifth of our population. Was speaking to a mate about Belgium the other day - he knows someone who lives in Holland but works over the border in Liege. Apparently they’ve drafted the military in to help and oversee things at hospitals, and any health workers testing positive but showing no symptoms are being asked to still turn up for work as they’re so short staffed. Now as bad as things are over here, it’s clear that it’s a damn sight worse over in Belgium.

"you must stay at home" easy to say Boris but when your company is putting pressure on you to go in, not so easy to do .

The second wave is here and is serious

NHS guy

Perhaps a few would like to apologise to me for battering me constantly for saying this would happen all along
