I’m assuming we’re going to see a spike in deaths in Russia soon, got nearly 200,000 confirmed cases now but only 1,800 deaths...

Most went into lockdown over a week before everything else. The sad fact is that it's mainly staff essential health workers who've taken it into homes.
The opposite of hospitals then where NHS staff were correctly protected from their patients.
PPE or lack of it has been responsible for many infections.
I spoke today to my daughter who is senior midwife and she could have sent her kids to school as a key worker but chose not to as her husband manages to work from home. She said it was still the same risk to her kids if she used the school.
She said she could not understand people who no longer were allowed to work not taking their parents out of the carehome risk area at least for the time being.

Just a little concerned as to why the Government plans could decide to shut hotels etc. yet ignored carehomes.
Was this a deliberate tactic and if so to what purpose?

They can't shut the care homes, where would all the old people go?

Where would they go ?

With 20-20 hindsight care homes should have been locked down with staff isolating with the residents.
The big issue though is NHS beuracrates dumping in patients in care homes without COVID-19 tests or insisting that such patients were isolated for 14 days. Similarly for care home bosses who accepted patients without insisting on a test and isolation from the rest of the patients. Anyone with a modicum of common sence could see what would happen.
Going to be a big issue.
